6mm stainless steel rod.
Heat end cherry red place swiftly in vice and strike sharply with 2 lb hammer to bend 10-15 cm right angle. Measure length from outside edge of caliper to inside edge and add 10 cm.
Angle grind opposite end of rod to a non sharp point.
Drill out inner brake pin hole with 7mm carbide bit.
Feed replacement through and mark 3mm from brake face at protrusion.
Remove pin and file small flat at 90 degrees to bent right angle.
Using flat, drill 2 or 2.5 mm hole through rod (pillar drill is a great help)
Fit and secure in place with R clip or split pin. (I've used SS split pins.)
25 mins per side including jacking and removing wheels
There are more elegant ways of doing it but they are also more time consuming.
