PSR were my local specialist, but they are not responding to any communications, and my car is in need of a service and MOT. Matt Bentley is about an hour away. Is there anyone closer to where PSR used to be? Alternatively I might just take it to the place PSR used for their MOT's as I've used them for a while for my other cars

We've recently opened up in Romford. We're all ex Sinclaire/Essex Autosport staff who took over the building when they moved away from this area. We already look after a few VX's including green_machineGC's modified VXT.

We do everything from MOT's to full geometry alignments to bodywork to engine re-builds.

Check us out on FB or pop in anytime

Can anyone recommend a good place to get my car serviced in Cambridgeshire? I need a major service, so I am prepared to travel if needed. Thanks for any suggestions.

Top Gear Automotive, Wolverhampton. Owned by a guy called Martin. Top man, knows his stuff on vx220s', Lotus and  Tvr. Trust him completely and is very fair with costs. Also very honest.      thumbsup

If you're goiing that far, check out PSR in Bishops Stortford. They are back online in new premises now. Always been excellent for me in the past.

Thank you for suggestions, I will have a look. Unfortunately I won't use PSR as I have had particularly poor service from them in the past.

Try Track-Club at Kimbolton (next to Elise Parts). They've serviced mine a few times.

Independent Vauxhall Centre, Coventry

Recently had a problem which i though was turbo related so was worried about getting the car to Gugliemi, was recommended this garage by a colleague and found them to be great.

Quickly diagnosed the problem as a gasket leak, ordered replacement parts and fixed a few other little niggles for a very competitive price.

Big thumbs up from me.

Elise Parts

Were brilliant after UPS decided to destroy my parts delivery! Sent new bits out FOC without any quibbles.

Great customer service :)

Edited for smelling.

John Seal Sports Cars and Chris.

The bad bits first.

1, Wakefield is a long way away and the inhabitants are a little odd.

2, John's business is run from a large industrial unit, that's a little cold.  I didn't feel my feet again until five hours after I'd left.

3, Car envy is impossible to avoid.  There are many nice cars there.  Who knew that VX light lenses are transparent?

4, You have to make the tea.

Other than that, I am rather particular about who works on my car, I am pretty handy myself and too often a poor job is done by others.

Chris impressed me with his speed of work and attention to detail.  No problem stood in his way.  His soldering is a way better than I could hope to achieve.

Happy customer

More great service from Matthew Bentley Racing on my VX over the last week. Serviced, new toe links, geo set up and a few other bits and bobs.

Great banter throughout and quality service as usual from Matt & Sean.

My car felt transformed on the way home, best it has been since I have owned it - many thanks Matt
