little audio specialist shop in essex near southend called ride on. sub+amp+custom made box+wiring+labour= around £1k (allready had the component speakers and head unit) I comute to work 70miles a day so the sound system helps the jorney I know ill get " why dident you get a stage 1/ milltec etc, my insurance is allready £3200 so dont think putting up the perforance is an option at the mo.

you may be able to get it cheaper, the amp/sub where pretty expensive so you could just go for a cheaper setup with same install? dunno

put a shed load of masking tape over the back shelf and layer it with resin, when dry carfully peal the tape off and the resin shape of the back shelf will remain, this will give the back "fitted" shape, build up the front and side "box" look and smooth the edges and seal with resin. not an extremely hard job just time consuming for a beginner. save yaself a grand and do it yaself. good winter project to get ya teeth into. i have some good lightning audio components to go in but are a wee tad too small so am making up MDF rings to fit them with. the Tweeters are going on the dash i think, not sure. dont think i'd go sub as the whole clam will no doubt vibrate and sound really bad from out the car, so even with my new components i'm putting some dynomat down. edited to say: this looks mint though JT :D and agree on a long journey a good sound system would be needed as i have found out this weekend

Pah.. spent a week driving to the south of France and back - Didn't even switch the stereogram thingy on :P

I've always wondered why stereo mods never increase insurance premiums ? Surely it makes your car more nickable which is their reasoning behind increasing the premium when you put different wheels etc on ?

That's because of your wikkid zorst and intake though mista, we needed fcuking earplugs in driving behind you (especially through the tunnels) ;)
