Went out to the vx on friday morning and started her up no problem, how ever I went to wipe the screen and nothing, tried other swith thinking I was being daft, and indicators worked so I knew it wasnt me being daft!!! Left the switch on and I could hear the relay clicking from the realy so thats fine, fuse isnt blown, and its getting a live when tested, so I could only conclude it was the wiper motor!!! New from work was £453!!! :o But managed to get one from vauxhall spare centre for £75 delivered, so will be fitting that tuesday! I just hope its that, I was also wondering if in some bizare way it could be related to the interior light in the centre brace not working? Before you say search thats what im on my way to do now, just thought id post to give people time to reply incase I cant find any thing :P

I'd suggest this was the wrong way round! :P

I had a similar problem that was easily fixed by banging (tapping really) the motor mechanism, having removed the plastic guard that covers it.

Hope it works thumbsup

ok, so its now fitted! what a job, 5 aln keys, not easy to get to, by any stretch of the imagination! works spot on, but the motor parked on the divers side!? s had to disconect the linkage and reposition it! I dont fancy trying to do one again, vauxhall list .9 hrs to change! not in my wildest dreams is that possible at home, next problem was the ecu light came on after changing, possibly related to disconecting relay underdash to reset motor (not that it worked!!) or disconecting bonnet sensor for alarm? either way tried turning the ignition on/off and reset ecu and car drives fine but wl still get it on tech 2

The wiper motor is off a Renault 5

Mutt, which Reanault 5 is the wiper motor off? (I've just thrown two Renault wiper motors away last year :( ) I've got the Microfiche part details for all Renault 5s including the Turbo2, if we could ID which model it's off we could know what to be looking for to source elsewhere. thumbsup

As for Renault, they're as bad as all other motor manufacturesrs for charging rip of prices for spares. :(

I alwasy used to source my Renault spares from Europarts for about 1/3 of the price thumbsup

Mark, what did you do with the old one? Considering the costs of a new one it may be worth getting it recon'd as a spare to keep or sell on.

These are the notes I have: - "Bosch confirm that it is the same as a Renault 11 1.1, Renault 5 GT Turbo and a few of the Renault vans. Citroen AX as well? So, for £58 from a Renault dealer for the same Bosch Part." Steve
