Thorney has to cover these costs. He does this by selling advertising space, and therefore it's not fair to the companies that do advertise to allow free advertising to happen.

I still think mentioning any product under a topic is providing that company with free advertising.

JJ

PS: I'm not "getting" at anyone here, just trying to be see this from all sides.

Interesting. I have made several efforts for us to put our differences behind us all of which have been ignored by you Paul.

100% untrue - this is my reply to your request for a truce -

john, this isnt "thorney bashing". And i have no desire to "oust" you from this forum. I admire that you have chosen to turn a hobby into a career - i am well aware of your background and sure you will make a sucess of it. This thread has got well out of hand - please be assured i didnt want this to occur.

However, being independent with the products is very closely linked to the forum being independent - it just doesnt work for me. If we fail to agree, then as you say, we must disagree

remember that PM??

You have also been very offensive about in posts about me to the extent that Rubber had to moderate them for being so

where?

Considering our history I thought it wise to remind you on the rules on commercial posts

considering our history and your position with Miltek, your words of "a warning shot" were hardly going to placate me

IMO you need help, professional in nature and lots of it

Because i choose not to tune into you biased opinions?

minime......you were very clear with me when we met at AmD rolling road day and at Performance Vauxhall show that same year (where you helped Regal set up and break down their stand) that you had the same deal as I did at AmD - ie no labour, but pay for parts, when did this change? You don't want a wing? Who fcuking cares, I just pass the money onto the manufacturer, if you want a wing for your car then I'm happy to sell it to you but its because its the best one possible don't dress it up like its some kind of site donation when it clearly isn't. JJ, at no time EVER have I said that anyone cannot post information about new product. Due to the fact Cheeky very clearly thinks that the World would be a better place if I was dead I simply reminded him of the rules and this is his reaction.

I just had to go and look out of the window to remind myself why I visit this forum, and there she was! B) And then I came back and looked at the various posts on this topic. :( Open discussion is healthy and is needed to fuel new ideas, that's how things get developed and improve. But we have to respect that there are limitations on what is considered advertising, whether it is commercial or otherwise. Obviously JT and CC have different opinions on things and aren't going to best buddies chinky chinky :jump: , this is fine but to air a grievance publicly, come on! Surely this could have been sorted out with a quick phone call out of courtesy to check with JT as to what he would and wouldn't be prepared to accept. This is getting out of hand, agree to disagree but respect the rules! thumbsup

Paul, Rubber had to amend a post when I suggested you selling second hand Yoko's was daft. I'm sure when he comes on tonight he can confirm the gory details.

The whole argument has nothing at all to do with me, so I cannot comment on the issues.

However, can the thread at least be moved to a less prominent part of the site please? There's bound to be a few new users visiting the site today as they contemplate buying a VX over the extended weekend. It would be a crying shame if this is the first thread they read in what has always been a friendly, warm and welcoming club.

The Guinea pig is JT who tries and tests things for his own enjoyment and his hunger for having the best! I like the idea of the Blueflame zorst as an ex-biker but am going to wait to see if you blow your car up or cause damage to it and then see How Blueflame treat you when you complain. If a milltek caused a problem I'm pretty JT wouldn't be happy. BTW this is supposed to be Fun and not personal which is how it looks to the 25 people reading. :gayfight:

I would tend to agree with tommyboy. In the interest of all I believe this should really be resolved by PM. It's not particularly pleasant to witness. Life is far too short. Wile

I thought this might be a good place to post this : I've been developing a new product for the VX, working closely with Regal, Skoda and Dyson... The All New Crowbaby 15", all plastic, bucket exhaust for your VX. Increase power to 500bhp simply by switching to this badboy*. This can be yours for the bargain price of £150. Make cheques payable to Crowbaby Enterprises. PM me for details. * actual performance figures may vary dramatically

becoming clear that only sponsored ideas can only be posted

Well, I think I was pretty enthusiastic about the Delta-Motor SC and posted loads about it without ever being contacted by Thorney, let alone being told to desist.

I would argue that no-one has any issue with open debate – it's just not that fair to try to plug things for companies who don't contribute to the forum with free ads when you have some interest yourself. Seems reasonable to me.

Thorney Motorsport don't sell superchargers...

Try JP Exhausts in Macclesfied

JP

Here is doing a full Milltek for an N/A & Turbo...

MSW

If Thorney can match the above price when im sorted with the paint work issue on my rear clam i'll have one thumbsup

Come on, guys! It's starting to look a bit infantile now... Both sides have made their points – we'll all be able to see how it develops from here. We are all here because we love the car and so have at least that much in common (and probably a lot more). Kiss and make up! :gayfight: :D

Right. Thread is locked. I will starting a new thread on commercial post rules in the moderator forum where we discuss and agree en masse to how the rules should be applied. Needless to say this forums primary purpose is the sharing of information about the car and this will be protected at all costs, but clearer rules need to be applied and applied to everyone. Minime, your association with Regal has been ignored thus far on the site but it is clear that this can no longer be the case, one rule for everyone now needs to be applied. Cheeky, minime, if you want to carry on this conversation then PM me or email me (thorney2000@yahoo.com)
