I thought with a wiki you could edit anything?

edit to say: ah ha... ratspants needs to let me in first :)

this could be a slight problem

I think you're sorted now! :)

It is possible to make the wiki fully public i.e. no registration required, but it is left slightly more open to abuse. Perhaps it should be fully public for a few weeks just to try and bulk it out and then make it "protected" again?

Sod it, let's make it public! B) I shall be a wiki-evangalist for the week :)

Spread the word!

Ben

to restrict the general troll abuse on the Wiki, could it not be linked to member name and length of time on forum? need to be a member for a year or have posted so many comments so that you are active. Then if someone else wants to add they can pm an allowed editor but that could be most people on the site. no one who has been here for 6 months would mind not posting as we are still learning about the car during those times with less to add than the longer term members.

In the medium to long term then that would definitely be the way forward, but I think to get people used to the idea it should be public so people don't have to sign up, then wait for an "organiser" to allow them to post. I think for now people should be able to jump in and get some info up there.

If you see anything interesting being discussed, stick it in the FAQ, possibly with links back to the threads on here!

:)

Mods: Any chance of making a sticky for the wiki? :)

http://vx220.wikispaces.com/

I still reckon it's the best way to maintain a core set of useful information - at least until one can be set up on the vx220.org.uk servers?

Ben You have made a very good start on the Wiki. Well done. thumbsup Just for fun I tried editing the entry for intermittent wiper relays. Its easy. To save work, if something is already covered in a forum here , one can "cut and paste" and immediately its available in structured form. Very good chinky chinky

I'm pleased to see people having a go at adding and amending entries! I'll keep adding to it when I have more spare time but I hope that, once momentum has picked up, everyone will jump in and add their bit! :)

Just to make it doubley clear to everyone : ***YOU*** can edit this site - there's an edit button on every page and it lets you type straight into the page!

Because we are such trend-setters, SELOC now have a >TechWiki<. Well worth a look. I've asked if we can add VX220-specific information on there too but I suspect not.

Ben

P.S. Don't forget to add any useful info you find to >our very own VX wiki<!

Hows this for a thread resurrection  Thought I'd let everyone know I've added a bit about OBDII, linked to the error codes for the Z22SE & Z20LET, & a bit about OP-COM and a link to a working version of the software thumbsup On a side note, I notice that we have just under 2Gb of space on there. Would it be worthwhile backing up a copy of the TIS, EPC etc on there to make us less reliant on the Speedster forum?
