I may bend Johns arm to put mine on the rollers when im up there next month. I cant for a minute believe it doesn't have extra BHP after the 2+ treatment.....but I wont lose any sleep if it doesn't ;)

I agree it would be nice, but i'll go with an open mind. It definately feels faster than my unmodified car two years ago.

sounds intresting.. my 04 plate VXT with TMS Stage 3 inc milltek and CC should be pushing out 270bhp according to TMS figures and 300nm torque.. Anybody know what that is in lbs.

So, did a stock VXR make the advertised 220bhp? Ta, Paul.

After a long day (JT :poke: ) i've returned from TMS having had a Milltek cat fitted as well as an annual service.

Power @ flywheel 150.2 bhp
Torque @ flywheel 158 lbft

Power @ wheels 123.5 bhp
Torque @ wheels 129 lbft

Car is a stage 2+ (full milltek exhaust, ITG & remap)

Am I disappointed with these figures? If I'm honest, then yes, both John and I expected around 160bhp. We wished a before dyno run was done for a comparison.

Am I disappointed with how the car drives and performs, then no. The addition of the cat has livened things up at the top end and even the exhaust note sounds a little raspier :D. I suppose it's one of those cars where the proof is in the driving and not down the pub quoting figures.

John himself said (i believe i read it somewhere) that he was a bit disappointed with the figures of the RR day. Just one of those things really as you said, the car feels transformed and that's the most important thing. Did i also remember reading john was thinking about revising the maps, or did i get that wrong?

My stage II is an AMD re-map (John had a big part in this), mileage is 20k and the Milltek is a one off i.e. the back box is half the size of a std Milltek (although I believe Jinders may be the same?)

Stop crowing Cheeky :D It would be really interesting to see the torque curves for a Stage 2 VXT overlaid with your torque curve. More or less the same peak torque, but that extra 20-30bhp would make a big difference accelerating through the gears! With yours peaking at only 3100rpm, it must be almost flat from there to peak power at 5700rpm?

The NA results really are bad tho... particularly the Stage 2+ ones... So I'm guessing my Stage 2+ is similar to those at 150@fly and that is not exactly a great gain for £1800!!!

Can you look at your torque figures again - seems to be 30lb/ft difference (220/250) between the fly/wheel figures where me/other tubbies are 40...

Even if you ignore the calculated flywheel figures and look at wheel figures which is basically a straight forward reading of how hard the wheels are turning (no calcs involved really), it still doesn't look too good:

std: base bhp (119)
stage 1 : ??
stage 2 : +2 bhp
stage 2+: +2 bhp
stage 2 with full Janspeed instead of Miltek: +8bhp

Would have liked to have tested my stage 1 map had I been able to make it although I suspect, assuming it falls somewhere between std and stage 2, it wouldn't have been a particularly exciting result.

I'm reviewing all our maps at the moment and how they are measured. New BXT and VXR maps are almost ready along with new VXR Astra turbo maps. THe NA maps are weird as they feel a lot faster on the road but dont seem to show it on the dyno so we're looking into that to as that maybe a different issue. Regardless of the outcome any improvements we make to the maps (its an on going process after all) are free to owners.

Having driven an N/A that was a Stage II TMS and owning a pretty much standard N/A myself(Apart from a 200 cell sports cat), I can say that the remapped car certainly is much better. The feel of the acceleration and the response is far better and the engine doesn't run out of puff quite so easily towards the red line. If I had the money available for the remap then yes I would definitely go for it. I'm sure that many of you are disappointed that the figures don't show greater gains (and I'm sure no one more than JT), but at the end of the day these cars are all about feel and the Remap certainly makes them feel much, much better and more complete! All IMO of course.
