Ok, I did a search the other day for the door panel removal and didn't find any easy to
follow instructions

So here is a idiots guide to removing the door panel and window winder for anyone who
is planning to remove their door cards or adjusting the windows.

If I'm covering old ground then please feel free to me

Part 1

First remove the screw on the side.


Then carefully pull off this part which is attached by three plastic clips in the area arrowed,
just remember these panels are made from hard foam and can break easily so do not
force it off.


Then remove the three plastic clips to re-use when re-fitting.


Next remove the screw from the next panel.


Then remove the four allen key bolts from the window winder




Next remove the allen key bolt from the centre


You can now start to remove the large panel from the several plastic clips that hold it
to the door, start from the back and work forward without breaking the foam panel.


You will need to get behind the panel and pull out the two plastic screws that hold the handle guard in place.










Part 2

Carefully remove the door panel around the door guard.

Next twist off the handle guard.

The door cards are held in place by six plastic clips as shown, but remember these door
cards can crack really easy if forced off.

If nothing has broken you should be left with these pieces.

I have decided to cover the door cards at a later date and i have put the black panels back on
so i can still use the car, I am also planning to stick the door cards back on with Velcro and
not re-using the six plastic clips.

As far as adjusting the windows I'll leave that to someone else to explain

Well sort of i did try

Fit nice and snug against the hardtop, but when i sat in the car and shut the door, put the
window down , i then found the window won't reach back up to the top unless i open the
door , wind it up some more and shut the door and it seals
But i understand this can be common effect ??

Can't say I had any issues when I had it on. What is it that stops the window going up when the door is shut??

Excellent guide, it must be the season for replacing/respraying door cards and panels because i'm looking to do this very soon.

Not sure why its doing it , its only leaving about a 3mm gap, will try next weekend to solve.

I have the window problem too! and its so annoying when the water gets in the car during heavy rain.

I hope the guide helps everyone who plans to do their door cards or adjust their windows.

I also managed to sort out my window problem,
For some reason the window wouldn't shut right up to the top when the door was closed,
I realised now that i had adjusted the tilt to high at the back
Once I took the tilt off the window it went level and shut evenly
I also had to adjust the window a little higher by about 3mm and
'Robert is your dads brother' it worked !

One window done, one more to do

Oddly the info is already availiable in The Useful Thread Collection

I adjusted my windows a few weeks back. It is suggested that you should adjust the "eccentric screw" thingy. I found that I could adjust the window height, and alter it front to back by adjusting the bolts outside of the waterproofing. It really is obvious once you get the trim off (THOSE BLOODY BLACK CLIPS!)

There is always some aweful sound form the window, and a big gap that leaks water when it rains!

I did, but next time the door panels coming off

and don't use velcro either, the glue melts in the sun, I've only recently refitted the correct clips and managed to clean off the glue
