There is a single scratch along most panels, they are only noticable close up, I have priced the car accordingly.

I'm tempted, has anyone already been to see this car and would they care to comment on what they saw ? Libra, how bad was the damage for class D, have any panels/parts been replaced or resprayed ? thanks Marc

Libra, i think with some better pictures, you would sell this. Maybe danyeates would be interested, he was after a vx circa £8k and he is not bothered by cat d! maybe worth pm'ing him.

It was Cat D before i bought the car and i believe it was a domestic incident, cheating girlfriend or something! :P There were various parts replaced like roof and tyres etc., the scratches are the only remaining damage. I wouldn't have thought there were any panels replaced else the scratches would be gone! This car is ideal for somebody who wants to get into a VX on a low budget as the scratches aren't too bad, i have lived with them as i am more interested in driving the car to be honest.

I think perhaps you are under selling your car. From the description and history as you describe it, it must be worthwhile to realise the full value to renovate the imperfections . As for the HPI CAT D Vehicle Condition Alert Register (VCAR), then get it checked and passed an appropriate post-accident repair inspection then it will be transferred from VCAR to the vehicle condition inspected register. danyeats might be able to help itemise the work needed, but respray, and dash refurb, plus fix the door mirror and light its got to be worth doing for another £2K . Maybe even add some of the Lightning Yellow features like the black bits as they are seen as desireable.
