hello everyone.

was cleaning the interior of my car the other day and managed to scratch this inside of the screen with a ring, (ha ha!!!) so not very deep.
is this the kind of thing that a speacialist would be able to polish out or sort out? bit like those guys who make windscreen cracks disapear.

any (useful)ideas anyone???

:beat:

I don't think there would be enough access to the glass to polish it out (presumably they would use a machine)

You could nip down the local Autoglass / RAC and see what they think - if you need a replacement it will cost around £50 through your insurance - provided it's covered (good opportunity to get a black one, if you want one)

Weird , I did exactly the same thing about a week ago - damned titanium rings :beat:
Have tried a couple of things half heartedly so far but with no luck. If you find a miracle cure let us know?

Hi Guys - finally got this 'sorted' -

found this guy who has a company based in High Wycombe, i think.
very nice bloke.

basically - when i scratched the screen with my ring! i managed to leave bits of the metal in the glass - this is what makes it really stand out.
he had some magic polish that actually removes the metal from the scratch and then all you have left is a slight indentation in the glass only.
you can hardly see it - all you need is a bit of elbow grease with the polish and you've fixed the problem. alot less expensiveand hastle than a new screen

i strongly recommend this guy - he was very helpful:

his details are:
www.glassdoctors.com
Director - David Barry
mobile - 07836 709244
office - 01494 813583

well worth a go (and no - i'm not on comission :) )
