Has anyone had a Xenon kit fitted in their VX? If so, were you pleased with the result, and how much did it cost (wouldn't have a clue how to fit it myself, so no need to suggest it :) )? Did it change the aesthetic at all (when the lights are off)?

Mine cost £90 delivered, and pretty easy to fit yourself, otherwise would take a garage around two hours (ish) - makes a massive difference thumbsup

I know! :poke: Let's try this in monosyllables. Give me an idea of how much the labour will be. Clearly it varies from place-to-place, but I just want an idea. So ner :P

10 min job to fit yourself

Bloody ell!

It took me that long to jack one side of the car up and take the wheel off

YorB - Topgear by me charge £37.50 an hour all in, whereas the Vaux garage charge around £90 - so best to shop around thumbsup

You took the wheel off?? taking the engine out is the hardest bit of fitting them :poke: :poke: :D

YorB- Just find a local member who might help, probably fora couple of pints in the local thumbsup

If you really want a garage to do it, it should be no more than 1 hour labour :)

Takes an hour or so to do and make a huge difference to the safty of the car, best off doing youself as they are not hard just a bit of a fiddle getting the bulb clips to lock in properly. They look really nice if you get the white 6000K ones, the other ones can be blue or violet but may attract the attention of the plod as they are not srictly legal anyway. Having said that I have had no problems and got an MOT without any fuss, the fact that the VX main lenses are projector type makes them look original fitment but they also show the other bulbs up as yellowish. Darren...

This is how I mounted mine:

Worth investing in some white LED sidelights too (about £2 on ebay!)

Thanks everyone, and thanks CheesyPuff for the tip ref. the aesthetics. To pick up Mandarin's point - I guess your white/yellow comparison is because you didn't get the side lights done also? I think I would. Let's try this one more time guys. I'm a girl. With a great line in shoes. And handbags. And a Harvey Nichols store card (not). Do I look like I'll be fitting them myself? :D
