Really minor damage though...I'd guess it was shunted into the car in front.

if you cant see someone braking soon enough then thats beyond your limits as a driver ie too close at too high a speed.

i had a datsun 240Z do that up the rear of a mark 1 scort i had back in the dark ages, the Z was frontally totalled and my scort had a bent exhaust and a dent in the rear valance.

I thought about this too, and imagine the A8 is a softly sprung car and assuming it was braking very heavily too, the nose would be down and the rear already unweighted when impact took place.

now if you were a physics teacher Its a wedge basically, the rear of the audi was probably high due to braking, the elise front low because of braking, hey presto.
