Ok....finally the results from the first 3” 2bular NA Exhaust & manifold fitted by Courtenay's. First weights... Miltek 2.5” complete system with CAT pipe & standard manifold 23.52kg 2bular 3” complete system with single Silencer & 2bular manifold 13.10kg On my Supercharged conversion the bhp went up from 253 to 266 plus torque was pretty evenly increased throughout the rev range by an average of 9.5% except at the top end where John thinks my cams & the standard ECU restrictions are stopping any further gains. (to be resolved with the Stage 3) Brace bar... I think Paul (Muncher) will have to comment on whether he thinks the Brace bar will fit as I don't have one to try. I will post graphs later, as straight from Courtenay’s I went to Snetterton for an evening LOT session and had my gearbox finally give up with oil everywhere including my tyres which ended up in a lovely & very unexpected power spin, luckily onto grass and not into a barrier. So my Castle Coombe Track day will probably be cancelled unless I can get Plans to drop in my new box next week. So who’s next on the list?

Looks and sounds great Max. I've been speaking to Jim about NA systems and he said he was awaiting feedback about SC system from a fitting at Courtenays and I assumed it might be yours. Can't believe the weight saving there; impressive. Any impressions on the sound levels? Sorry to hear about the gearbox going pop. Looks like my Castle Combe cancellation was a bit of poisoned chalice. :(

Err MAXR, Don't you think the box went pop for a reason :) like err 253 bhp (it wasn't the scream from the S/C it was box screaming let me out in your last video), no seriously Quaife does a nice line of sequential g/boxes that can handle you're 266 bhp Colin Blower converted his VX220 turbo just a thought. Have a good weekend Ian

The exhaust sounds lovely, similar to the Miltek, a little more fruity with a little more base. Static sound tested at 95db yesterday. My previous Miltek was 99db and it melted much of my aluminium heat shroud around the rear box & It also melted both rear sensor cables twice now. I hope this new exhaust resolves the heat issues. But If anyone has a standard exhaust ontheir NA and is considering upgrading their system, then it's definitely worth going with the extra cost of the 2bular system as any remap work will bring greater benefits especially if you're considering Supercharging. or if any of you have miltek systems then a 2bular manifold & front pipe section could also free up some ponies.

If you had the std NA miltek system it's only 2" Those are good results and an impresive difference in weight I'm always impressed with Jim's work it's always worth waiting for.

Max, Looks great and the lower noise level is a definite plus. Worrying to hear that bits have been melting. Is this just on yours? Presume you have been happy to drive around with slightly more than 250bhp without worrying about the engine internals. When's the Stage 3 due? chinky chinky

No mods are required to the clam or any other part of the car. The secondary silencer is just a precaution; it doesn't impact on power at all. I also didn't go for a rolled lip on the exhaust tip so that I could fit an external silencer if required at the track. Regulations are bound to get tighter in the months ahead.

Yes a Miltek rear box & straight through 2.5 "pipe. It will be spare & there’s also a turbo rear box. As I'm not sure of the condition of the internal sound deadening so they will be going V cheap. Please don't message me yet. I will post a listing later this week.

Is that really your car :yeahthat: how come its got black paint on it. Also the jacking points are really interesting, too.

It is my car. The car was originally Blue, then changed to Fiat Orange several years ago. The car is at Courtenay's on their lift the rear arms have wooden blocks on to reach the frame.

Remember, Max's car is purely a track car and isn't currently road legal. So, it doesn't need to run a cat. I'm sure Jim at 2Bular can supply a cat section for road legal cars (or a straight through de-cat pipe) if required as opposed to the additional silencer). I guess that's one of the benefits of a custom system; you decide what your requirements are. thumbsup

Looks great doesn't it. can't wait to get mine. Jim does a cat section but as Techieboy said Maxr only uses it on track and noise is the important thing there.

Dyno graphs from Courtenay's after my 3" 2bular exhaust & manifold upgrade from the existing Miltek rear box with 2.5" straight through from pipe section. Peak torque up from 217.5@4253rpm to 237.5@4458rpm Power up from 253.7@6638rpm to 266.4@6421rpm
