This is what we've all been missing right? Cheap 16/7 combo 5 spokes that weigh next to nothing...

A picture of them; Imnotworthy

I'm currently in talks with Rota to get a group buy going. Obviously there will be small waiting time (special order) but whats wrong with that?! :D

This was done for the Elise S1 also,

http://www.elisepart...3386a44034af6d2

The picture of the Elise is not the best to say the least!

The wheels will be a perfect fit. With the PCD's being 110x5....

What would people recommned for off sets and sizes? It can only be one set size...

Front 7x16 = 5.95kg!
Rear 8x17 = 8.4kg / 8.5x17 = 9.6kg (8 or 8.5?)

We'll need around 10 poeple with deposits...

Prices will be up as soon as I get them...

I'll start the interested list;

Try to ask if they have nothing lighter than the Slipstream too, I thing US guys had not bad results with the Torque wheels too (a bit heavier than the slipstreams, but maybe another model is lighter...) Should be interesting if they could do us the cuts on the central bores between the bolts, just as on the 4 bolts ones, as it saves a LOT of weight. 8x17 is already larger than what we are used to fit on VX's, normally the choice is between 7.5 and 8 :) 8.5 is just way too large EDIT : well I'll wait to see how this goes before putting me on the list

What about centre bore? VX has an unusual one.

They will be custom built for the VX220 so I need all the imformation I can get. Why is the centre bore different?

Ah, nice!! I was already looking into 4-stud hubs to fit these wheels on a vx, as they look so much better than the speedline or TD's.... 7,5 or 8" rear should be fine I think?

There's still no guarantee the AP big brake kit will fit, as it depend on the design of the spoke You can download a fitment template from the AP website tho, and get the manufacturer to check thumbsup

I googled some worrying threads on bend/broken Rota rims. Not sure how much of an issue that will be on our use...

There's a similar issue with the ATS design apparently, where they have been originally intended for a market that does not incorporate large potholes (ie track and/or better maintained EU roads etc)

:D nothing that severe - you just need to be aware of the fact there's a (maybe marginal) greater risk of bending them
