Hey all, could someone help me out, I've just done the airbox mod on my vx N/A. And in first and second gear, from 4000 revs upwards I've got this weird whistle/grinding noise. It also happens ever so slightlely in third gear. If I hadnt just done the mod then I'd think it was my gear box, but its defo not that.. Its driving me nuts cos I've pulled everything apart and cant find anything rattling etc...please help

Engine mounts.

You may ask how this is related to the airbox mod. Here is how......

You do the airbox mod. You like the sound as you accelerate. So you accelerate again, and again, and again, and again with a little more ferocity each time. Engine mounts no likey.

did you take the wheel arch liner out? Mine was sticking out 3mm (around the top suspension point) and was rubbing on the inside of the wheel

Ok so it aint the wheel liner. I just took it off completely and the noise is still there. Also disconnected the airbox and suprise, suprise, the noise is still there.
I think I'm gonna tape the airbox up and put it back to normal, see if that shuts the fooker up.
