Two in a week! Another woman dressed all in purple when I was having lunch in Portmeirion yesterday. The missus intervened and threatened to walk out if I said anything.

So I said to this woman behind me in the queue all dressed in purple, So, are you in mourning for Prince, and she just glared at me, snorted and turned away?

Openreach don't know their arse from their elbow. Three different engineers, three different theories as to why my connection speed is 4.5 megs whereas next door is 32 (theoretically impossible because of the 2000 metre copper (and aluminium) cable run from the cabinet?e

Not sure if I mentioned, I "upgraded" my EE, just to save a tenner a month, downside was I got the EETV box, which I don't need. My connection speed just went down hill, buffering when streaming TV. Rang them, pointed out how crap it was, insisted on something changing, abruptly explained why the wires had to change sockets, removing from the open reach box on the wall, stating what a waste of money they've made it. The Tech then said 'you do realise you're on ADSL...

I upgraded too. One engineer admitted that BT are misselling their products and Openreach are refusing to spent the 12k required to upgrade our line from the village.

Hits hit the news this morning stating they've failed the plan to make so much of th network faster? It may be costly, they may have investors to please with dividends but surely long term gains is better than short term? We have come a long way from dial up but the options to use faster & more stable connection appear to be moving faster than their ability to supply?

Well Mr Ob he said, unfortunately your condition has suddenly deteriorated in the last six months and has also spread, you're borderline major invasive surgery. So, there's a distinct chance I could without warning collapse and die? Yes he said, if you feel ill don't mess about with the doctor, call an ambulance immediately. Come back in three months. Well thanks for that, it was very reassuring – not.

Very sobering... but kind of ridiculous - you are not well, but for now we aren't going to do anything.

So she said to me "Before he disappeared he became obsessional about his health and vitamin supplements because eight of his Uni friends had died, two of them in 9-11. So I said taking vitamins wouldn't have prevented them being killed in 9-11, not unless....they'd just popped out to the shop at that moment to buy some more vitamins. And then she gave me a withering look?
