If everyone is going to stay up I may do the same but it will be late by the time I get up there. If there is a convoy on the Wednesday morning would be up for this. Not fussed either way. Not looked at the forecast yet but have R1R's on the car and the 888's in the side lines. Will make the call on Monday......and get it wrong as normal.

Techie and I will convoy on Wednesday, welcome to join us.

Just thought about that again.

I doubt Matt will want to be seen convoying up 3 hours with Lightning McQueen. What was I thinking?

I've just got back from Cadwell, as guy said it was very quiet...Anyway, I'm hoping for more of the same weather for next week, but as we've had such a good spell so far this month, it's bound to pour down... It's only £10 per person to either camp or prop up a tent. Hot showers & toilets included. Oh yeah, there's a vintage car track day the day before the 27th at Cadwell, so we can add oil to the rain....lol

Wonderful. :(

Still, can't be worse than Silverstone after the Britcar 24 hour and rain.

Nice to be back behind the wheel, Max? No mechanical gremlins today, I hope?

A couple of vx's in convoy normally gets attention but add in Lightning McQueen.........priceless.

The attention you will get on track will be fanastic, lots of double takes in the mirrors.
Nice to be back behind the wheel, Max? No mechanical gremlins today, I hope?
Well, it started ok in the morning, but I had brake fade in the afternoon??? I've never had it this bad before, so I'll be getting a fluid & probably new pads. I had to use the escape road once & went cross country on another occasion ripping off my Cupra front spoiler...oh well! But Mechanically, the engine & gearbox was perfect! I have some footage which I'll upload tomorrow if I have time...

Any data Max? Would be nice to see some proper quick laps to compare lines etc.

Steve,

I've only got a few laps of camcorder footage taken late morning as I've sold my performance box, but I'm about to get a vbox soon.

Now for the excuses....As it's my first drive in the VX for 9 months or so, I'm a little rusty (so was the car!) my brakes were off in the afternoon. I had two excursions off track due to them & I had to take it easy. As you know, brakes are important at Cadwell! I'll post a clip of one of my excursions later as well as a clear fast(ish) lap today.

My lines were all over the place in the morning, I did manage to do justice to all of the corners eventually, but unfortunately they were spread out across the whole day...lol!

Let's hope next week's weather is good too!

Max

Especially at Mountain and Bank, no brakes = armco thumbsdown

What bhp are you running these days?

P.S. I'm also trying to convince myself I need a Vbox :)

The car's now at about 300 BHP, but to be honest unless it's a fast flowing circuit, there's not much benefit over a 260bhp S/C car. I had my engine upgraded for reliability not outright speed, hopefully it's now reasonably bullet proof... In the wet 300 bhp is probably a disadvantage!

I'm only going for the vbox lite, even that's a big expense...

You NEED the OLED display pack. The new predictive lap timing is amazing! You can try different approaches to corners and find out immediately if the new line was better or worse, on the fly tuition thumbsup ETA - Not that I do that mr trackday organiser, honest :)

TDO's are fine with VBox's etc. Live timing they hate :)

Which is what the OLED and predictive timing does.

Ah cool, are you able to monitor it as you drive.....? Sounds distracting! useful though if you're fighting the clock!!!

I just put the predictive timing firmware update on my Performance Box t'other day. Not actually interested in the functionality as I don't chase times but hope it improves the Micro Input Module logging and like the idea you can have multiple circuit overlays on there now.
