Hi after searching for what seemed like ages for the guide I found it hidden in the group buy room so rather than bumping that thread I thought I would start a new one here as this is where I was looking first. All credit gos to pjohn151 who wrote the guide.

original thread with the guide starting near the bottom is here

and a link to the pdf version is here

A big thanks from me to pjohn151 for posting the guide as it was very useful for me today fitting mine.

:yeahthat: i used this guide last weekend to fit mine it is very good. How did you get on with the nut on the back of the alternator? I ended up removing the alternator so i could get to it and still havent bothered tensioning the belt yet as i really cant be arsed tring to get a socket on it. thumbsdown

The nut on the back of the alternator is a pain I managed to get a socket on it then wedged the socket with a screw driver though I don't think it is 100% tight so when my exhaust arrives and I have the under trays off I will have another go at it and possibly cut an old 17mm spanner down to fit in that tight gap.

A set of stubby metric spanners is a must for these cars as there is tight or limited access I found the 17mm stubby one fitted perfectly on the back of the alternator.

I used an angle grinder to make a really short spanner. The spanner wedges between the nut and the fixing so you can tighten the bolt. I will post it to you if you want
