I've found some old posts regarding this and got some useful from them, but I was wondering if anyone had gone as far tidying up the hole left behind in the GRP bodywork. I really need to think about doing this as I'm over 6' tall and can't put my seat back where I want it ideally and that lump is just in the wrong place. Not sure why Vauxhall had to have these and the Elise didn't, but there you go.
I'd like to get the hole filled & painted after removal so it looks OEM.
Any insights gratefully received!
Muncher does a replacement roll bar cover without the headrest holes, A few on here have them fitted including Jimmyjamjerusalam.
Vocky did a different thing with trim rubber and that looks OK as well.

Back bit or front bit?
The front plastic mould that sticks out abit over the seat headrest.
Also the bit below that directaly behind the seat headrest which is a cover.
If any of that makes any sense!? confused myself lol

I used an old sheet .Any tips on keeping the filings out of the car from the grinder?
Only to be honest wouldn't recommend you do the same as the sparks from the grinder set it on fire.

As Vocky says, mask off/protect as much as you can as those grindings are pretty destructive.
MikeyVX, I've got what you want in the garage somewhere, I'll have a search tomorrow if you aren't fixed up yet

I jigsawed out a piece of plywood to cover the window. But I like sawing things anyway.
For many months while Sharon and I were poor, I used to bring home many pallets each week and saw them up to burn on the fire.... It was OK but the house and surrounding area constantly smelled of xmas trees!
