So Ive had VXs for 3 odd years now and for me thats a freakin lifetime. I think I might sell the VX next year and get something a bit more "groen up" (ready to get flamed...). Ive been looking at a whole pile of stuff: 993 Porker, F355, Cayman, E46 M3 and I still love Esprits... It'll probably be an M3 though as the first three I cant actually afford and the last one will be less trustworthy than the VX. Whats everyone elses car over the horizon?

Realistically can't see me moving from the VX for a while unless I come into some money. If I did, then T350C; if a little more than that, definitely Sagaris.

Long way off, but a 'baby' Aston is high up the list given the drive in one the other week... You can be such a hamfisted twat with one and it wont try to kill you, so its gotta be the one for a hamfisted twat like me

Yeah, went over to my girlfriends mates house round the corner the other day. Aston V8 sitting on his drive. I was like...

Mother... Funker... :P

Yeah, the 135i is a proper crackin wee car. Id have one in a heartbeat. Bit too pricey for me and they are bloody heavy for such a small car!!

All being well an Alfa 4C, if it ever makes production and stays like the demo vehicle. Oh a decent wedge of the natural Alfa depreciation wouldn't go amiss either.

Only had my VX on the road for a few months and can't think of anything else that would give me more pleasure for this side of £90k. Really love the car, more than anything else I've ever had, it's brilliant. Actually, nearly as good as biking. In all likelyhood, rather than change it I'd tune it. I have another car, a L322 Range Rover that's 8 years old. I use it infrequently when I need the space or have to tow my trailer. Can't see me changing that for a long while either. If I didn't need to tow then I would change it, but a having a big trailer is useful. The thing I would change is my bike. I have a BMW K1200LT that I bought for commuting. I no longer need it for that and would prefer a different bike. Top candidates so far are a Triumph Speed Tripple or a BMW K1300R. Having said that, it will be next year before I do that.

Ive come to the conclusion that im never selling the VX. Ive had it 6 years and i can see me parting with it. Due to my commute (65 miles a day) no one car covers all bases, so i'll be keeping the VX and my next upgrade will be for the primera. Hard for me to justify a "fun" car as it is, with me having the bike too so can't imagine ever having a more expensive toy car.

Only just saw the alfa 4c the other day - amazing looking car but will it have decent performance? If it's the 1.75tbi you could remap it but then there's the handling. Think you may miss the way the VX drives. I like Brera's but there's almost no point to any of the petrol engines except the new tbi one. They're over weight, more of a grand tourer than sporty - the prodrive 'S' model will probably be better but the ride is probably completely ruined in that! Wouldn't touch a TVR, like Z4 coupe's & caymans but would probably go even more grown up and go for a 335i or something. I loved my old E46 330Ci, the way it drove, build quality etc but couldn't afford to run an M3! I never thought I'd be able to live with my VX but after a couple of winter months I still love it - looking to get it supercharged, good investment I reckon! Nick

Yeah, im getting rid of my 325i in the next couple of months as its way too expensive to run as a second car. Love the build quality though, which is why im toying with BMWs as the next toy

Either Z4M, Cayman, 911. More than likely would be the unloved 996 - silly cheap these days, massive amount of car for money.

There's a lot of ridiculously nice cars you can pick up now for about 20k. I'd be looking at a Porsche Cayman S, Merc SL55 AMG, BMW M6, Nissan Skyline GTR34, BMW Z4M Coupe, Honda NSX, Porsche 911 (996), Lotus Exige S2 and Jaguar XKR. Or if I wanted to do longer term damage to my finances then Aston DB7, Lotus Esprit V8 and Maserati 4200. Still think I'll keep the vx instead though.

JDS, shame the only one of those I could afford to run is the Exige but that's the least practical or grown up! I thought BMWs were out of my system, had the 330Ci, 120d (177) and Mini Cooper S. Having tried and owned many other cars though, I'd go back in a flash. I reckon they are one of the ultimate driving machines. Tried a boxster before I got the elise - it was good, nice build, stuck well, sounded nice but didn't drive as nicely as the BM. Nick

DB7 hasnt aged well, just looks like a saggy middle age woman now :(

a 'mere' £35K would get a V8 Vantage now so they are p*ss cheap (in terms of what a new one costs)
