ok I have looked around and emailed Courtney’s but they didn’t answer so here’s the question. I’m trying to piece together parts for a stage 1 for now 2 later. what I would like to know is: supercharger pulley size for stage 1 and 2 also will the Bosch 34# Fuel Injector part# 0280156021 work for the Stage 1+2 if not does anyone have good part numbers for the ones that will

All the info is here have a good search or contact Joe or Lee they do good prices on S/C conversions Before you start that route though I would make certain your fuel pump is uprated, the oem ones seem to die slowly. Also have a look on the Z22se.co.uk site they have a dedicated s/c section unlike here

0280156021 are indeed the black Z20LET injectors you need (up to 270 bhp) Pully size for stage 1 dunno, stage 2 = 3.3 and stage 3 is 2.9 or 3.0

ok searched Z22se.co.uk and this site and others and Courtney’s and others but there is everything about pulley sizes except the size used in the stage 1 of the 2.2 conversion. if it’s so easy to find just type the numbers in a reply and I will thank you.

really ok I believe you but I told Courtney’s that I had a 3.35 and they said that was too small for the stage 1 and they quoted me 50 quid for the right one but never would give me the size. Joe I hope the stuff you got worked out good for you.

Yeah it did many thanks and hmm they must make it bigger... Standard pulley size is 3.35 so not sure what size they make it to... If you could post up when you know that would be good to know :)

40bhp difference, just due to cooling?
Do the fins in the charger run slower when too hot?

I believe the reason is that the intake air temp gets too high as compressed air gets hot.

No, not only due to the charge cooling:
Stage 1 has a bigger pulley (?? "), so less charger rpm's and pressure => no need for chargecooling. (They say...)
Stage 2, smaller pulley (3.35") , more pressure, more heat => chargecooling needed... (and + 40ps  )

I think you could run more power with stage 1 but it not being charge cooled it couldn't hold power for long how about stage 1 with a water injection kit this would work wouldn't it. It's all about the intake temps you wouldn't want to run a turbo car without a intercooler but it would work just not for long. If I was charging I just can't see why you wouldnt fit a charge cooler and go for stage 2 and do it properly . :)

What is the max you can get out of the standard injectors if you wanted to leave them in just to get started and gradually keep upgrading parts?

You'll need turbo injectors from the very start. NA injectors are maxed out at 200bhp, I think, so less than Stage 1 SC power.

What if you were happy with 200bhp or wanted to prove everything worked OK in stages, would they run the car?

I am not sure if the mapping would take the standard injectors. Doing it in stages will cost you in rolling road set up each time. You need the cms base map, so you can't deviate too far from it.

OK. Coming from another angle, can you go straight up to the VXR (Green?) ones and use them for a stage 1? Most on Ebay seem to be for VXR's.
