Just picked up the lego elise from SLS after an mot, service, rack refurb and geo and i'm impressed. I've used Ali for a few years now and never had a problem with his work, but in the past few months he's got new premises and set up a partnership with Mark McKenzie who some of you may know from ScottishElises.com (SE). Mark is (in)famous for throwing a stupid amount of money on an Espirt before selling it to then throw more money at an S1 Elise. However he's now flogged that to set up with Ali. Some commitment. They've now set up a new account on SE (SLS), they are answering emails and even answering the phone on the first attempt. If you've ever tried to contact Ali before, especially before a big SE event, then you'll know this is a huge improvement ;) Being able to book a service via PM is a big plus for me (anti-social i know!) as was the run to haymarket when i dropped the car off. Likewise I've also got a stack of paperwork sitting here beside me detailing all the work carried out, and all the relevant CLCM and MOT documents. Small things but they make a big difference. Work wise Mark and Ali accommodated my frequent questions, change of plans and request for a CLCM geo with a smile and banter...........and basically made my life much easier. To top it off the bill was more than reasonable, and i've now got a list of "things to consider" without the normal pressure from garages to get it all done ASAP. I know a few of you have used Ali before, and I think Nicol has been to the new premises already but thought i'd give them the review that i feel they deserve. Both dyed in the wool enthusiasts and good blokes with it. Details are.... SLS Unit 23, IMEX Business Centre. Dryden Road, Bilston Glen Ind Est Loanhead Edindurgh EH20 9LZ Landline phone number is 0131 629 0159 along with the original mobile number, 07961445483 Tell 'em Donkey sent you :tt: ............oh and a new rack makes a HUGE difference :D B)

Yeah, I worked in the industial unit right oposite the new SLS premesis a few years ago!! Ali is a top bloke and cant fault his work. I agree with everything LazyD says above. Its brilliant to have such a great place to take your car. PS, Ali took my gearbox completely out, took it to Livingston to get reconditioned, picked it up again, refitted the entire gearbox, refilled it with oil, refilled the charge cooler circuit, refilled the hydraulic clutch, fitted the undertray properly, fitted a few bits of trim in the boot, reworked the wheel arch liners as best as he could and relocated the HID balasts to a better place. The bill for all of the above: £200. Chuffed much?!? Hell yeah!! Wouldnt take my car anywhere else for mechanical work!

Hopefully just worn. Not sure if it's a worn cable or even if it's adjustable.
The biting point has gone right up to the top of the pedal. Teach me not to try and pull away quickly and light up the tyres!

Had my VX serviced today. Great to see someone(Ali) working on my car who knows their stuff and spent time explaining things and answering all my questions. So booked in next week to get the engine mounts changed and powerflex bushes fitted to the front and rear torque mounts. And thanks Mark for the bacon roll chinky chinky

Got my car booked in with these guys on Saturday, mostly really just for a good going over (not that I have any issues with the car, just for piece of mind). Travelling from Aberdeen but its a chance to pop in by the folks this weekend anyhoo. I was looking for someone with experience up this way, but couldn't seem to locate anyone, and SLS seem to come well recommended (as above). Also glad that Saturday is good with them as I would struggle during the week... Will let you know how it goes! Ross
