Is there any difference between the Lotus and Vauxhall hardtops and can you make them fit. Obviously the Exige version has a scoop but will the Elise motorsport variants fit the 220 turbo model, cos i need one.

The eliseroof wil fit, but with a twich:
Posted Image

The vx220 rollbar cover is more edged then the elise one, so if you look closely, they do not line up 100%.
Still watertight though, but for the more estetic hardtop shopper; they tend to shop untill they found a vx220 one.

Keep in mind that a tubby hardtop is padded, and an NA is not.
If your car never had a hardtop, you may also need to change the brackets in your rollbar cover, to be hardtop aware.

Softtops are 100% identical though.

From what I've read I'd say yes it does fit, but not 100% sure so best wait for one of the gurus to answer! Or have a quick search on SELOC to see if Exige fits S2 Elise, then you'll have your answer :D

The exige scooped roof will have a hole in it at the back edge where its supposed to line up with a scoop on the exige roll-bar that then extends into the engine cover of the exige. It'll look dreadful on a VX imho.

ive done a bit of research and it looks like the exige roof fits on the elise and elise roof fits on the 220 so i should be ok! i'll have to drive there and give it a trial fit just to make sure i think. cheers, andy

I've never seen that before with the Exige engine cover also. There's a thread somewhere with a very talented bloke fitting the GT3 Lotus bodywork to a vx and it came out awesome.

Off course it wil fit; see post #2. And also see there the misallignment on the sides, as the VX top is more angular there.

(Btw, that GT3 had all Lotus bodywork fitted onto his VX chassis. Which is a lotus chassis with a different rear subframe...)
