Had my car in with Q-Mech yesterday for geo, corner weighting etc and got to say Andy is a top fella! Met him at the services near my work first thing in the morning. As his courtesy car was not available he gave me the keys to his Land Rover, and I passed over the keys to the VX. (first time I've heard my car from the outside and must say the Piper is sounding nice!). So a trudle down the motorway in the Landy, a day at the grindstone, then Andy calls at 3pm to say car is all sorted and I can either pick it up or he will bring it down and will meet me at the services again. Due to work commitments I choose to meet him back at the services. We dually meet in the services and Andy and I chat for the best part of 3/4 hr with him talking me through everything he has done on the set up, also any other little items he'd noticed either whilst driving or whilst working on the car. All in all very knowledgable chap who seems to have all the time in the world for his customers. A true enthusiast who I have complete trust in leaving my car with and working on it. So in summary if anyone in South Wales (or further afield!) is looking to get any work done or advice about their car I would stringly recomend giving Andy a call to see what he can sort out. Whilst chatting he did mention that he's open to suggestions for group buys (geometry checks etc) so if there's a few people interested then I'm sure something could be arranged. Here's a link to his website. http://www.qmech.co.uk/

Hi Chris, A guy I work with has a vintage Lotus and raves about QM Tech so I'll probably take mine there at MOT time. Do you mind me asking how much a geo set you back? I've got a bit of slack in the steering which I need to get checked out (tried tightening up the UJ bolts and it's tight for a few miles but then works loose again), so I might get those guys to check it out/adjust/replace. Thanks in advance.

Just had mine serviced by Andy @ Q-Mech. Also had him fit and setup geo for new suspension fitted last year.

Rough price list for him is here: LINK

Need to book mine in when the new geo-kit is fitted for a check up. Has he had this done yet? I recall him saying that you (Chris S1 - think you also mentioned it in another thread) were the guinea pig for it after it was fitted.

Yep that's right, Andy was having a demo of some new equipment and needed a car to test it on...I needed a geo check so it worked best for both of us. He said it's going to be a few weeks until he gets the new equipment as he wants to alter the garage slightly to accommodate it. He can still do geos with his 'old' equipment though so I wouldn't hesitate in giving him a call. This new gear he was testing is all singing all dancing. Tells a whole wealth of information - all the usual suspects plus individual wheel circumference, distance between front and back wheels, contact patch of tyre on the road, etc. Andy can sort your steering too...he can refurbish the racks at his place so definitely give him a ring, the price he offered me was very favourable and I'll definitely be taking him up on it next month.
