Hi all, Who do I give my hard earned to in return for insuring a 2.2 N/A? I have looked at the usual suspects online, but the quotes are crazy, especially as I want a limited mileage policy under (5K per annum) with no track days etc. I'm over 40, clean licence etc etc. Have full NCB etc etc. Car is garaged at night etc etc Any feedback much appreciated

Well, my limited miles policy is with Admiral, I'm 22 and that's only costing me £550... so god knows what your quotes are for them to be 'crazy'.

What do you mean by limited mileage? My policy says I will only do 4000 miles per year on it, is this the same thing? Or do you specifically have to ask for a limited mileage policy. I'm also with Admiral and pay around £650. I'm 22 as well.

Page ward for me was brilliant as iv just took my insurance out with them on a 300bhp sc vx and im only 23 and the price i got from them was £1220 this was also including lots of modification and if i ever made a claim (touch wood that i dont) they pay like for like on modification. Definitely worth a try and there number is 01782 286311.

Hey Wanabee, I'm in a similar category as you (40, 6K, N/A, FNCD), amazingly "Morethan" were the cheapest for me when I took the policy out last year, just under £500 I think (with Quidco cashback if you're into that!). I normally use the comparison sites to get an idea, then target the best companies direct to get any extra offers at the time. Good luck - let us know how you get on

If you got another car then go for an admiral multi car quote. I am under £200 a year for 6000 miles a year on the VX and a under £500 for all 3 cars insured, no one can come near it for me.

Yeah admiral gets my vote. They were cheaper than anyone else at the time. I'm 25 FNCD it's £900 for a modified VXT and £300 for the shed, that's insuring both me and the girlfriend on both cars (she's 23). Seems to vary for everyone though depending on where you live etc. Your just going to have to try lots of company's and find the one that suits you best. No ones mentioned excesses, higher the excess lower the quote. My excess was £1000 last year as I was under 25 now it's £300 for me and £500 for the girlfriend. It's all these things you have to consider and get quotes for. Good luck!

Depends what the companies are like on your postcode. CCI are recommended by a lot of people they quoted me something stupid like £1500. On the std cars have been paying £4-500 with Admiral and Elephant but looking at quotes again now thats creeping up to nearer £550-£600 :(

I can give a thumbs up to CCI and Henderson & Taylor. Both quoted around the 600 mark (several 100 cheaper than compare sites) for a stnd n/a with 7k miles, 25yrs old 3 yr ncb and commuting. Lots of good reviews with admiral multi from ppl on here so if your insuring more than the vx definitely worth looking into. Good luck!

Did you get a new quote online and get then to match it? Also did you make sure they mirror all your no claims?

I'm with Heritage who, for me, are marginally better than CCI. http://heritage-quote.co.uk/ - but probably easier to give them a ring. chinky chinky PS The VX is deemed to be a modern classic in case you're wondering. thumbsup

Yeah the renewal came in at £250 so I did a quote online then phoned them up and they matched it. I was one of the people that told you about the mirroring remember! :P
