To be honest, reading that list, I wouldn't get one, if I were you.

header tank cracks
engine mount grindings
seat bolster tear
front stonechips
cracked door sill bits (bits with triangles on inside the car)
rear track rod ends
hub carrier bolts

I suppose some of these are MOT failures? I.e. Track rod ends, Header tank cracks, hub carrier bolts

Cracked door sill bits - What does this signify?
Hub carrier bolts - What the issue with these?

Paint blisters

Toe links

Horribly expensive tyres

Leaking roof

Misted lights

Heaters that don’t work

Radiators that blow up (original plastic ones)

Wheels that shear apart (look for HT embossed inside)

Ebola in the air vents

To add but a few more.....

I'd say making sure you can fit in one is quite important. ;)

Cheers Rob,

You never know I might even qualify as an owner by then! If not, it would be good to have a chat.

Just sold my Westfield narrow body. Now that's a tight squeeze and a non starter if you're over 6ft and not built like a stick!

I once got into one of those. The fire brigade were called and they warned me that they would not attend another "incident". Luckily I had vaseline in my man-bag.

Oh... A few other things to caveat:

And if you buy a Turbo and are under 40, it is written that you WILL write it off. At least then you can look down your nose at the NA drivers. Which at least is some consolation, since every Lotus driver will, in turn, be looking down their nose at you.

And whichever you buy, your wife will take to calling you “Needle Dick Mid Life Crisis Boy”.

I wish I’d bought that Avensis I was looking at.
