Hi,anyone know if it is possible to do a DIY transponder key coding/programming for a second hand ECU taken from another vx220 with interface taken from ebay like the op-com or similar?? I don't want to go to my local vauxhall monkeys dealer to do this job if possible.... Thanks!

I have two ecu's one stage 2 and one standard. You can interchange them without issues as long as you have the ECU, transpnoder ring and transponder chip. If you get another from a VX220 no re-coding/flashing is needed, it will just work. Astra ecu's need flashing with VX220 software to get rid of checks for Traction and Aircon.

How do you remove the handshake between that ecu and the transponder from the other car, without the code?

He means that you don't need to re-flash if you change the ecu + Immo + chip form another VX220...

Thanks!

To DIY you need OP-COM cable and software on a laptop.

See here for a guide.
