I've read about peoples cars being transformed by re-setting the suspension geometry, so I'm going to do mine (got a tracking gauge, and a camber/castor gauge). Does anyone know what the ideal set up is (ie the set up scared stiff use)?

Sure I've read before somewhere that SS would divulge that info.

Scared Stiff will only give the figures to those that have had the setup done, and understandably so. The only figures published on here I think are the Lotus 340R settings, which may be a decent starting point, but are probably quite track-biased. Have a search one here for those.

I think SS ask their customers not to pass on their settings. Quite rightly so as they have done all the research to work out the best ones for our cars. As Jim says the 340R settings will be the best starting point and then it's a case of a tweek here and a tweek there! Good luck! (or you could always take it along to SS and you will then have their settings and you could try tweeking them if they don't completely suit your driving style)

Positive camber at the front? I think you might find that's quite understeery?

anyone got a manchester dealer who can do this? I booked it in for thursday and being charged £80. Is that about right??? Also I going to get the 340R lotus settings. If i take the figures from this page is that all they need? And anyone know, have they driven a car every day with 340R settings and what did they think? And how much better is the scared stiff setup going to actually be over the 340R setting? Thanks guys LewisT

Lewis, make sure the car is loaded as per the technical note too. I don't have a copy of the service manual at work, but it is something like 70kg in each seat and a half full tank of fuel. I'm sure someone else will confirm this. The 340R camber settings are fairly extreme for road use, so expect the inside of the tyre to wear more quickly if you do a lot of motorway miles. The Bridgestones are very hard wearing though, so a few thousand miles off the life of the tyre is no big deal. PS And the Exige/340R settings are achieved on lowered suspension (LSS) so a car with standard suspension may behave differently. More suspension travel, so the bump steer will be very different. No harm in experimenting though :)

Thanks mate, i didnt realise car had to be loaded up. What about the price of £80, is that about right, especially since im supplying the setup, all they doing is the actual work.

Tuning garage in Bury, they not VX specialists or anything like that. It appears from there website that they just mod up big jap cars, they are a blitz dealer so cant be too bad. And besdies which assuming they have the right equipment no real knowledge of the car is needed. I decided all that understeer at donny was too much to handle, so i getting it fixed up thumbsup

Had my car checked this weekend after 2258km. Just wanted to make sure the car didn't have a weird setup. And I got the feeling it had toe in, as it was a bit slugish going into the corners. The toe-in was correct, although not much. The changed it to be 10 minutes toe out on the front. At the rear I had the right set to toe out, which can be very tricky, so they corrected that to the default settings. Only thing I have to do now is fix the camber, left front had 32 minutes negative and right has 0, so have to get a couple of shims out. BTW, the difference with the toe out setting was sigificant, what a change :D Car is much lighter now to stear and goes into the corner much better. And I was surprised by the costs, only 40 euro's... Mark PS. These guys are not speedster/vx specialists, but they know what they're doing, that helps a lot..
