Anyone running these pads? After burning through set of front RC5+ pads and only being half way through the rears I was thinking about putting a set of RC6 pads in the front. How bad is the squeel? My car is mainly used for track days but I do come to work in it sometime and would prefer for it to not be unbearable. I'm pretty good at getting pads not to squeel but wondered if these techniques will be pointless on RC6's Cheers Steve

Was reading something about RC5+E pads the other day, somewhere. The E stands for endurance and they apparently last longer. Not sure if they're available for our cars currently.

After getting through the last set in 10 trackdays this sounds interesting. Cheers Matt I'll check them out.

Can only find RC6E, no info on 5E anywhere, even on CL's site.

Trying to remember where I read it but got the impression they were a recent development. Think Fiveoclock and Alanoo run RC6's though. thumbsup

I recon the rears will last for 15 to 20 though and I'd like that from the fronts if I can get it.

my CL5s which were perfectly fine before i took everything apart are now clonking everytime i brake and its driving me insane! I don't really fancy rubber pads in there as they are known for sticking pads I think it did a rather too good a job of cleaning them up before refitting them.

Want is not always what you can get Fronts are always going to wear a lot quicker than rears, its just how the vx does it and it happens with all pads

I run 6's all round and I wouldnt change. They bite hard from cold and the stopping power at all temps is fantastic, on the brakes much less than the 1155's and 1144's I was using before. They last for ages, I honestly cant remember when they were fitted, it was last year sometime and they must have done 8 to 10 track days since then and are prob just over half worn. They are a hard pad with a lot of metal content, they wear the discs significantly more than other pads I've used and as a result if you dont clean your wheels regularly you do get a rust discolouration which can be hard to remove. At first they do rattle in the calipers but it soon goes away as they bed in. In operation they are noisy, sounding almost like metal on metal and they can squeal sometimes. They squeal all the time when reversing and its ear splitting. I dont use my car as an every day car so the noise doesnt bother me but if I did I'm not sure I would put up with it.
