I can't remember seeing these fault codes posted before, but finally got round to checking the codes on my OP-COM and I am getting: "Total number of fault codes: 2 00052 - Control Unit (Squib Code) not Programmed Present 00037 - Passenger Pretensioner Circuit High Resistance Not present" The control unit and airbag are the original items fitted when new, but were stored in a box for yeas before being refitted alst year. I hit a pothole at the end of last summer (when the Nitrons were still on) and pretty sure the airbag light came on soon after. I only have the passenger seat belt fitted but have a resistor in the driver's side loom to replicate the seat belt pre-tensioner. I had assumed the light was down to me removing and refitting this. Can the airbag control unit lose the code / link to the airbag through lack of use? I would have thought once the parts were paired together they should be fine.

Have you tried resetting and seeing what comes back?

Yes, the light stays on and both codes remain. I'm wondering if the air bag code could be a loose connection on the squib rather than the squib no longer being compatible with the control unit. May be completely coincidental but I do recall the light coming on when turning on full lock just after hitting the bump. Guess I'll need to disconnect the battery and remove it to check. The pre-tensioner one is strange as the passenger belt has been back in for years without problem. I suppose I could have dislodged the connector when stripping the interior and it is not getting a good connection now. I'll have a go at removing the driver side resistor and swapping to the passenger side to see if that resolves the code. If so, it looks like the belt pre-tensioner is faulty. Has anyone managed to successully re-program the airbag controls via OP-COM. The menus suggest you can switch the pre-tensioner circuits and the passenger side airbag () on and off.

Gary if you re-program your setup via OPCOM you can change it to a Corsa setting (which has no airbag) then it only relies on the seatbelt pre-tensioners :) I'm trying to find out which size resister to use for the pre-tensioner circuits. What you used..?

:yeahthat: Abouth the only thing working in my car at the moment is the resistor to fool the driver's side pre-tensioner  I tried re-programming the airbag control to be driver's side airbag only with no pre-tensioners and get this set of 4 faults; "Total number of fault codes: 4 00052 - Control Unit (Squib Code) not Programmed Present 00053 - Squib Circuit Code Mismatch Present 00036 - Driver Pretensioner Circuit Low Resistance Present 00038 - Passenger Pretensioner Circuit Low Resistance Present" Anyone have any ideas for the difference between code '00037 - Passenger Pretensioner Circuit High Resistance Not present' and code '00038 - Passenger Pretensioner Circuit Low Resistance Present'. Really helpful these fault descriptions  I removed the airbag and checked the connection and refitted it to rule out a problem with the wiring. At the moment I can't decide on whether the squib is faulty or I need to have the control unit re-programmed. Does TIS provide fault diagnosis for the airbag system?

I've tried every combination of airbag and pre-tensioner configuration but still get the same fault codes. It looks like the control unit is the likely cuplrit since the chances of all the systems going down within a few days of each other must be pretty remote. For the record I have 5 codes now... going for a full set  The latest one is low resistance on the driver's airbag. Monitoring the data shows 0 Ohms resistance on the driver's airbag and both pre-tensioners and 6.6 Ohms on the passenger airbag. Plus the pre-tensioners are listed as not present. All very strange. I reckon OP-COM might have knackered the configuration rather than reset as it should. I'll pull the control unit out for a day or so and re-connect everything to rule out an issue with the multi-plug connection and if that fails, it's due an MOT in a few weeks. I can ask the garage to check it on their diagnostics then. And as a last resort let Vauxhall have a go at reflashing the control unit.
