Is it straight forward to adjust the handbrake warning light? Mine has started staying on and needs a tweek to put it off. I figure its on a thread or something? Just thought I'd ask before ripping off the console.

Rip off the console, the micro switch needs a tweak that is all, 5 second job.

It's a microswitch and it just means bending the contact a little. You can just about reach the contact without removing the console.

On mine, the light never used to go off. It turned out that the little 'ledge' that the micro switch sits on was slightly bent, and needed adjusting. thumbsup

Digging up a old thread... I've got a slight issue..

The handbrake light is lit when the brake is down.. as the micro switch is pressed..

When its pulled up the light goes off..

Any ideas ?

Never seen this switch on mine . Never had the need
But it could be the wrong switch or wired the wrong way how many connections has it got ? A lot of micro switches have three connections 1 common then a normally open and a normally closed ? If it only has two and you have the lights working the wrong way round ie light on when Hand brake is off then try checking it with a multimeter

Just swapped them around on the switch, but its the same.

I also have a c0161 error, so could be related. Is this the switch in the peddle box ?

Fixed that parking brake light... there is a 3rd pin, which is a sod to spot..

. I had it on pins 1&2... it needed to be on pins 1&3 ... 🙈...

I'm really starting to think I shouldn't be a electrician in my next life
