Why do you need it? And it will block your rear view too.

Have a search for stephenflappy's thread, I think that showed what Lotus Amsterdam did to his roof. Thread

All this mod will do is cost you money, make the car heavier, create more wind resistance, obscure visibility and make it slower. It's not like your N/A engine could even know what to do with extra air

Whereas all my mods were functional (apart from the blinging (which I did becuase I was waiting for ages for parts)).

Is that not a custom mania one? If not they used to do a coupe top and scooped roof. If you need extra air why not try a hoffman style periscope?

Ooops, my mistake. Still, what function would the scoop serve, bearing in mind there are about 4 negative reasons not to install one?

But apart from that, is there any good reason not to?

In theory, if the benefit from cooling is enough to make the intake temperatures better, it will actually increase the performance of the car.

You would also have to cut holes in the rear of the clam to allow the heat to escape.

Nope, but it is/looks functional, along with the coupe rear.
Why not try the same idea as the Veyron supersports. Standard Veyron has 2 periscope air scoops, supersports has a larger engine cover with naca ducts to draw the air in and reduce drag.

Turbo ears are functional but some think they look good though. Meh.

I guess you will be fitting the roof scoop to the stage 4 VX, not the standard one

Edit: what will it look like with the roof off?
