Has anyone done any of the modifications to the M62 SC as noted in the attached link? I will be doing minor removal of casting marks in the SC inlet, and making sure the TB is matched to the inlet flange, but never considered blocking the air leakage ports and opening up the outlet port.. Opinions? Probably not worth much to me anyway and my weak sauce Stage 1.. :gayfight:

Its something I considered but if you read around there are equally convincing counter arguements to modding the SC. I elected to leave mine well alone.

:yeahthat: I decided I wasn't going to go anywhere near it, last time it was off the engine.

I have some industrial blue tack that I will use to plug up the silencer air holes, then I think I will get the angle grinder out to flow the charger. Seriously though, for the sake of 2 or 3 BHP which I doubt you would notice, is it worth risking cocking up your charger?

Better put the energy in porting your head. The exhaust ports are a known bottle neck in our SC-ed engines. thumbsup

I changed the throttle body butterfly valve bolts for counter sunk ones, but that was all I was going to do TBH

I'm not really convinced by what a lot of the people on that forum say to be honest, there's a lot of rubbish posted and an inclination that every single GM component needs to be replaced by a mega expensive aftermarket part.
