I think I might sell my headlights and replace them with torches! I'll be quids in
Magic. I'll give you a fiver per headlamp and I'll even throw in a couple of maglights.

A fellow member from France has recently made me aware of that the original link (posted in this thread above) is broken.
I’ve now corrected the faulty web address, so if you follow THIS LINK, you should once again be able to download the instruction.
A descent short term solution, while we wait for Fezzasus new headlight mould...

When i bought my RHD Rx8, i have done the thing mod to drive in France.
Good job, it's a little more complex on the VX in comparison with rx8.

Just thought I would mention in this thread, I found a company in Germany that will do the conversion for you. Looks like you send them your lights and for 200 EUR they convert them to LHD and send them back. I sent them a short message asking if they can change LHD to RHD (don't see why they wouldn't) and also convert the rears as I'll likely be bringing my VX back to the UK next year.

I'll update this if I use them and let you all know how I got on.

Beware that the VX lamps are somewhat unique in construction so they may not be entirely familiar with how to take them apart. Additionally, most of these conversions rely on a healthy second hand market of LHD and RHD projectors. As far as I can tell the projectors in the VX lamps were made by Wypac and only equipped to the VX and Elise (maybe some shitty aftermarket Golf lamps too) so there will be limited availability of parts to exchange (not to mention the fragility of the mounting points).
so with all that in mind, I would want to know the following;
1. How do they change the projectors, do they adapt the original projectors or replace? If they replace, are they familiar with the way the VX220 projectors are attached (they're resin bonded cup mounts, so will need to be damaged to remove the projectors)
2. What protection does the consumer in the event these headlights are damaged?

Just had a response back from them and it's actually 400 EUR for the pair to be converted. They advertise for the Speedster specifically as one of their products and it comes with a guarantee that it will pass the German TUV (MOT). At a guess they do it in exactly the way described in the earlier posts in this thread but I don't know that for certain. As for guarantee, I can't find anything so it would be down to trust (they at least have a good feedback ratio and Germans are generally pretty straight). I don't want to try the change myself and I don't want to get replacements so unless someone can give me an alternative, I'll let you know how it turns out early next year.
When I moved to Germany I had the lights converted by Pro Builds Lotus in Kent and they used the same method previously mentioned in this thread and did a good job (my car was imported without issue). I would use them again but sadly it appears they no longer exist and all my correspondence with them (done through their Facebook page) has now been lost so I don't even have a name to track the guy down.

Well, i'm biased but I would propose selling what you have and buying the upgraded units. I understand the OEM lamps sell for a lot in Europe so it seems strange to throw 400 Euros at them to make them worth less.

What are the upgraded units? I thought you either had to go to Vauxhall/Opel and get bent over for several thousand quid or hope to get lucky on ebay.
