Had a look in the guides and tutorials section but can't see one. It's probably a 2 second job, but looking for a quick how-to on changing a fuel filter? Are there any special techniques or is it fairly simple for any old monkey with a spanner to do? Cheers Bob

Nope! thumbsdown

Got a new one but yet to fit it. Car was running a million times better after I mopped up the water in the sparkplug chamber and gave them a good clean..... just kinda slipped my mind!

Thanks for that nelly. chinky chinky

See step 4, how do I remove the pipes? pull them off? unscrew them? Spanner? Brute force and ignorance?

2 spanners matey. One on the filter to brace it and one on the pipe fitting. Its kinda like a big brake pipe joiner. Its dead easy. Once your under the car looking up you'll see how to do it.

Just a thought.... I bought a pattern one when I first changed mine. It looked the same but the fittings were slightly different. Check your new one before you bin the old one.

Going to attempt this tomorrow, when you undo the fuel pipes how much fuel are we talking about which will be coming out, also any extra precautions to be taken once its fitted to ensure any fuel isnt on anything that might catch fire?

When I changed mine I removed the undertray but undone the filter from the top, that way I never got fuel running down my arms, face or anywhere else it likes to run down, also put an old rag under the filter to help catch some fuel, because if not the sound deadening material soaks up the fuel and takes a while to evaporate.

Aren't you ment to de-pressureise the fuel pipes with the button at the end of the fuel rail?

For future reference this is insanely difficult if the oil cooler is directly below the fuel filter.
