My inner CV joint has been totally destroyed. All (except for one) ballbarings have been crushed into tiny pieces and/or ejected through the CV boot.

The car is at the garage, but I was wondering where can I source one cheaply? Motorfactors will be able to get hold of one, but does anyone on here have a spare?

It seems Vauxhall would like me to remortgage the house to finance one, also only being sold complete with outer joint and shaft.

Good luck finding an inner joint from anyone other than Vauxhall. I've been trying for 18 months. The Vauxhall inner joint and boot kit is about £200 and is available without the shaft and outer joint.

I found the same Techie. Also found that the only boot worth fitting is the OE Vauxhall kit as all others fall apart. Not cheap at £60 inc either.

I thought the VX220 CVs are shared with the astra/zafira GSI turbo passenger driveshaft

Therefore the CV boot should be as well... Any news or info on this?

When filtering in EPC - using the part numbers for the VX220 bits, it only comes up with VX220 bits.

Only thing possible is - All the VX220 bits, if you buy the joints, it comes with the boot kit as a kit, can't buy the joints on their own. So perhaps with the GSi bits, you can buy them as just the joint, hence why part number would be different?

Boot kits, inner and outer - EPC says VX220 only.

Not to say one doesn't fit though?

So further homework is needed, well volunteered James.

Anyone know the dimensions and particulars of VX220 CV joints?

I'm hoping they correlate with some Astra/Zafira GSi CV joints on eBay.

The vx220 shares the hubs and 2.2 F23 gearbox with the astra G/ zafira A F23 engined cars, therefore the cv joints need to be the same

However only the gsi turbo versions have a similar (same ?) inner cv as the vx220

I know they are the same length because I measured up the astra driveshafts when doing my 6 speed conversion

a pic nicked from ebay of a set of astra G/zafira A gsi turbo driveshafts

So if the inner CV's are the same then we can assume the inner boots are also the same..?

do you honestly think they made a one off cv for the vx220 or just used an available 'parts bin' item :poke:

There's no consistency between the Astra/Zafira GSi and VX220 parts.

I can't find just a boot kit for the Astra/Zafira, it always seems to come with extra bits so the part numbers different. Posted Image

Just wondering if there were any part numbers on the individual parts in the kit, that's all.

I think there is on the grease. It'd be nice if there were on the clips and the boot.

Nothing on the boot or clips James, sorry.
