Hi, I am guessing you have already factored in a trip to Courtney for a re map to get the most out of these mods. I ran a similar collection of mods for a while on my NA and they did not help the car a great deal until they were mapped. If your car is NA I would certainly add a 2.4 manifold (GBP 100 on ebay) to your shopping list. Kind regards, Paul

Re 2.4 IM - not sure if i want to lose the low end power...

I lost no low down torque/power with the 2.4 inlet. Just get it properly remapped to suit.

Here's my NA power graphs before binning it all for SC.

Lowest line was the standard car. Middle lines were after TMS Stage2+. Highest lines after the 2.4 inlet, a decent 4-1 manifold and innumerable remaps to suit.

Hmm, that's quite conclusive.

Probably worth mentioning the drive for this is a a better sound, not necessarily more power. More power would be a nice side-effect :) (I fully understand that if i wanted (good value) more power i would just supercharge...)

If it's just noise, then remove the pre-cat if it's still in your exhaust and wait a little longer for the Milltek to lose all of it's stuffing. Free. Or fit a VSE. thumbsup

2.4 does not lose bottom end power. Just gives more top end. Best regards, Paul

I've got a Larini back box, Larini de-cat downpipe (No pre-cat) with a standard manifold & ITG carbon induction system. I got a 200 cell sports cat welded into the de-cat section of the down pipe (see pics) which made it sound better & not so 'farty'. It still pops and crackles on the over-run, in fact it sounds bloody amazing & Im forever getting comments about the noise it makes! :)

Just to let you know that the 200 cell sports cat came from Hoffmanns (http://www.sportcats.co.uk/) It's a 2.5", 200 cell sports cat, £105.

Thanks - is the "200" cell one the one that is ok for MOT emissions...?

Yes it's fine for MOT and the EML light stays off!

Apparently the 100 cell cats don't have any issues either but I didn't want to risk one.

i've got a Chris Tullet manifold with 200 cat and Larini on an N/A. I've booked Bedford on 31st October. Do you think I'm at risk of failing nosie test (101dBA) ? I was about to make a noise test with kit at work, but it's broken!

(me again - sorry)

Am putting together an exhaust specification and had a question.

It will be a Larnini backbox and a tullet manifold but which downpipe and cat should i go with?
(im running tms stage 1 ecu, ITG Carbon Fibre Induction and milltek backbox)

Larini offer a sports cat (which presumably will fit onto a tullet manifold), but also tullet offers 100/200 re-package silencers.

..and yes i know larini is loud, too loud for trackdays etc.
I don't plan on tracking it in the forseeable future...

Thanks again.

i know its a bit of an odd request, but can you take a vid of your current exhaust tune with the ITG and the milltek backbox...

many thanks
