Darron, i have got the eliseparts snap off boss kit, and this is one of the best kits avaliable you can get it from elise shop as well similar price on both sites the kits use ball bearings so last alot longer than the cheaper kits avaliable around the net! hope this helps! Posted Image

My boss was like £70 odd and it's better than most of the snap off's as you don't need a stupid key! Give 5oClock a shout he knows where to get them....

Ive fitted a different seat in my car and now its a real struggle to get in and out so im going to have to buy a detachable wheel. Couple of questions:-

Anybody used this boss or know of a similar price one thats suitable please.

Do you tend to get play in these after a while and im better buying one for twice the price? Or do they get play on them as well?

The Elisepart stuff has the advantage of using the OE hub, so you don't need a special splined corsa B boss kit

I tried the eliseparts stuff and thought it was rubbish, got a corsa c collapsable boss and an OMP adjustable sleeve.
Actually ordered a cheaper sleeve but they made a mistake and were out of stock, when I complained they agreed to give me the £105 OMP one for the same money ;)

Can you remove it though? I need to be able to remove it to get in and out of the car.

Substitute the sleeve for a removable one, they nearly all fit all popular wheels like Momo, Sparco etc, the boss kit will have suitable hole centres too. Demon tweaks site has the info on what fits. The B&G item you linked fits sparco/momo and others, is it any good? I have no idea.

I have the Elise parts snap off boss and hub. I'm in the middle of fitting it at the moment along with an omp wheel. Will let you know how I get on (seems like a good bit if kit from what I can tell so far). Chris

Snap off may be better, I had the straight forward boss adapter, it went in the bin.

The eBay one that FiveoClock and me have is great!! No need for splined shafts or any confusion. Easy to fit and worked better than most as no key

Sorry for the hijack. Does anyone know the torque values for the two hex bolts that go through the wheel hub an the securing nut? I have 25nm in my head for some reason!? Cheers Chris

I'm after a new steering wheel (omp) and I'm after a quick release for it. looking at the elise quick release kit it gives the impression it's going to push the steering wheel towards me? I'm actually happy where the steering wheel is, any suggestions?

Your omp wheel is likely to be flat. The VX one isn't. I drove a car with an Elise parts QR boss and flat wheel and i didn't notice it was any different to the oe position.

This could be the way forward then if it's similar position to oe

Mmm what about the air bag light? I am interested in having a nicer wheel but I don't want a MOT failure for the air bag light being on. I have ssen this covered before but I seem to remember the only answer was take the bulb out and hope the tester does not notice... Kindly, PH
