Ok ok, please don't shout at me, but the way the front wheels sit so far in bugs me to death... If I put 9mm spacers on would they look a bit more normal ie sitting at the wheel arch edge. Has anyone already done this and did you need longer bolts. Thank you for any opinions Regards Grant. 😜

I've got 16mm spacers and it looks ace. You will deffo need longer bolts though. I didn't do it for aesthetic reasons I have wider wheels with the wrong offsets on the front. If you are getting some make sure you get hub centric ones thumbsup

Any idea where I can get hub centric ones? With just 9mm would I need longer bolts? Cheers.

I got mine from speedshack, billet ali and a very nice peice of kit. I originally spaced mine out 10mm with shims to check clearance and the OEM bolts only got about two turns in. With 9mm you COULD use the OEM bolts but for safety's sake I'd get some longer ones.

Personally I would not consider using regular spacers. Hub centrics would be the only option for me.

You could try these...

You can go to about 7mm safely using normal spacers, 9mm wont allow a lip for the wheels to sit on. i bought 9mm and had them milled down to 7mm to be safe :) also i needed longer bolts.

To most the difference isnt very visible but my car sits as i want now with 7mm all round...

Judge for yourself whether you think the aesthetics outweight the cost of 4 spacers and 20 bolts lol

Bear in mind moving the wheel further from the damper will soften the suspension the therefore lower the car. Kind regards, Paul

Right as a add on to this idea Has anyone fitted oem rears with standard size rubber on the front I guess from searching on here they catch on the liners on full lock Q/ can I get round this with a 7mm spacer or will they still catch someplace ?

I have standard size rear TD's on the front of mine. You will need ET20 for it to work so that's a 15mm spacer. I have 16mm hubcentric ones. They do rub on full lock unless you modify the wheel housings (which I have)

Funnily enough, I asked the same question the subject thread "best wheel and alloy combination"... See here http://www.vx220.org...60#entry1286955 Korkey reckoned a 3mm spacer for standard rear rubber would avoid rubbing-any thoughts? Cheers!

My car is far from standard so i had to space things out further to avoid the cf arb blade. Never tried it on a standard car so don't know.

I use 25 mm spacers on each side with the front wheels and 10 mm spacers with the rear wheels from H&R. The system is quite simple and you can even add them yourself:

The theory is correct Paul (although it doesn't soften the suspension - it increases distance between the wheel centers, which increases the moment and affects the roll center position, in my basic understanding) but practically, I'd doubt a wheel spacer of the sizes we're talking will make any discernable difference to ride height or even suspension performance.

Locking wheel botls are sometimes shorter, and are a bit too short for 5mm shim spacers in my experience..
