I ran into an issue yesterday, when I started to put the interior back together.
I've removed the seat belt tensioner/roll on the drivers side (LHD) to get to the fuel pump.
When I was on my way to put it back, I realized that the belt had rolled all the way back in and "locked"... :(

I've can see the mechanism that stops the belt from rolling out, but I can't find out how to release it.
Does anyone have a clue how to do this?

All the way in:

The seat belt needs to be oriented the right way up, then GENTLY rock the belt in and out. IT's not permantely locked, it's the "Inertia" lock that holds the seatbelt in place in case of sudden motion/movement. Perfectly normal.

:yeahthat:

Once locked you need to feed in a bit in order to get it to come back out again. If you have somehow managed to lock it with the buckle right up tight against the mechanism you may have a bit of a problem. If this is the case try and push the coil of belt round with your fingers a bit then jiggle the strap but don't be tempted to open the metal cage up at all as there is some serious tension waiting to be released in there!

Yep, the buckle is all the way against the mechanism...
That's the biggest issue, since I'll need to feed in a part of it.
I'll probably have a "small" challange to get it right. ;)

I've the same problem ! But now, the belt is completely at the end of the stroke and I can't feedback the belt at all.

Is there anyone who know how to release the locking mechanism ?

You have to hold it the right way up. Any other way up and it locks.

Ok, thanks for help. I read too fast and as I'm french, misunderstood first.

Right way up, it unlock the mecanism, but I was so blocked at the end of the stroke (the belt was touching the frame of the tensionner) that I Had no choice to try to unlock it manually. Now it works, but it never lock ! In fact, I've broken it ! :(
