I also like the way the wipers park in a vertical position, the rear door handles are hidden and sleeker look. Not sure about silver mirrors even if they are the FR feature.

Loved the golf but can't see me driving it for the fun of it. Like a VX but not a VX.

Off the top of my head I don't seem to recall black wheels being a standard 107 feature!

Nothing like a VX therefore not a VX, obviously I handed in my salesmans card the minute you left on Sunday (after relieving everybody else of their deposits of course)

To my knowledge, just his everyday car, he test drove something on Sunday, but the so called salesman refused to take his deposit before he went home & had a good think about what he was doing. :D

Haha sounds like he's being too sensible for your liking.

Don't think the DPF should be a problem for you Mike as long as you do the miles. Bought my old Saab 9-3 1.9TiD off a guy that had only put 8k on it in the first year and a bit of it's life. Saab replaced it under warranty, but told him they wouldn't do it again, he had to use it more, so he sold it (to me). I did 40k+ in the next three years no issues but very few short runs.

Most of our DPF problems are on Peugeots btw.

Far too sensible as a VX replacement although he did sit in something with 6 cylinders as well

Had the 2L petrol version of the FR for 2 years and loved it. Still miss it sometimes :( The only real issue I had with it was the suspension being very crashy over slightly unforgiving roads/potholes etc. Solved with a set of Koni FSDs which seemed to work very well. I'm not sure if the diesel version has the same setup or not though, and I'm not even sure I'd notice that it was a problem after driving the VX for a year and a half :D

Good old Eolys...

As used in plenty of PSA, Ford, Volvo DPF systems.

Great car Mike - just what I was looking for until I was offered a Golf at a 'hard-to-avoid' cheap price. That could well be sold later this year without losing money and replaced with the Leon FR TDI, but in the meantime it has freed up some spending for the VX! thumbsup
