What have people used and experience for protecting gear cables?
Getting mine replaced next week with some nice new Tuthill ones and don't want them to cook again!

Merlin have some here in various diameters

At a guess 1meter of the 25mm stuff and cut to 2 x 50cm lengths should be enough?

I used this. Won't apply to you as your cables will be off the car but it's split along it's length so can be applied with the cables in-situ. Not had any sticky feeling shifts since it went on.

I cut some pieces of nimbus and rolled them into tubes. They have been slotted over my cables for a year or so. I also make sure my cables were as far from the exhaust as possible. (obvious really!)

I used the 20mm but reckon the 15mm would be probably be fine. Also got some of the 6mm stuff for lambda wires.

I would be up for some of the Thermal Velocity heat shield for the gear cables, might be worth to see if they will do a deal for a few of us buying it.

I'm going to get some sorted for my cables. I'm sure after 8months of daily use my tuthill cables aren't feeling as great as they did when first fitted :/

Dude don't say that! :D
Do you track your car much at all?
Heat shouldn't affect them with normal use, my heat shield was missing, that with SCing and some pretty hard and hot track days I think cooked mine.

Mine had sticky cables on a completely standard na. Have to see what kind of condition they are in after 10months daily road use.

Is 1 strip of the 15mm one enough to do both cables?
