I know that there's lots of post about the airbag removal, but I can't find an answer for this specific question. I'm changing to an aftermarket steeringwheel. I've removed the airbag and the original wheel. But I wonder if I can "install" the resistor directly in the airbag connector (fixing it with some shrink hose or something)? When I tried to carefully look inside the connector (just in one corner) I noticed that it looked like there's a coil or something in it...? I guess that I should install it in the connector, since the resistor should cheat the ECU that the airbag still is in place (and thereby need everything with the cables/connector to be as is)... I just want to save myself a trip and the cost to have to go to Opel to get rid of the airbag warning light. I don't really want to cut off the connector in case I would like to go back to the original wheel again... :) //T

It's easy to install a resistor. Just measure the resistance of the airbag you have taken out with a meter, and place a 1+ watt resistor in its place.

I got the 2,7 Ohm resistor, I just wasn't sure if I should "install" it in the blue/yellow connector or if I had to cut the connector and solder the resistor directly on the cables. But I just insert it in the connector and try to get it fixed there somehow. :) Thanks for the reply! //T
