Hello, I'm a proud owner of an Opel Speedster 2.2 for 8 years now. Unfortunately, recently I've had a small accident and the rear clamshell should be replaced. As you know, new Speedster/VX220 parts are quite expensive. I have the possibility to buy a secondhand clamshell, but it's the one of a 2.0 Turbo, not the ordinary 2.2 At first sight, both look the same, but in the official Opel parts catalogue the part numbers are different: - 2.2: Part No 9197013 Kat No 48 00 013 - 2.0 :Turbo: Part No 9198357 Kat No 48 01 404 I know the Turbo as a rear spoiler and wider side air intakes that the 2.2 doesn't have, but those are separate parts. But since the part sumbers of the rear clamshell are different, there must be a difference somewhere. but I don't know what. Does anybody know if a Turbo rear end would fit on 2.2 Speedster/VX220 ? Thanks!

The boot area is different. The spoiler and ears are superficial and other than holes for spoiler will make no difference.

Thanks for the answers guys. As you can guess, I'm a newbie on the technical side (and not native English speaking either). When you say that the boot line won't catch up, I assume that's a major problem and that the Turbo clamshell wouldn't fit? Or could this easily be dealth with? Another question: would my engine and boot cover fit in the Turbo rear clamshell?

You would need a turbo engine lid as well

In a nutshell, the turbo engine is bigger, so they had to move the boot part of the rear clam a bit more to the rear (ie making it smaller)
That of course brings the lock location more to the back also, and is therefore in a different location on the turbo lid.

So if you insist on using the turbo clam, you would also need the turbo lid.
As the mash of the turbo lid sticks out, people will notice it if you ever want to sell the car.

Success met de reparatie.
