Finally got around to sorting out my paint issues

Stone chips aside the paint was perfect prior to 2009. Got caught out in the snow and the clam decided to throw a wobbly!

I’ve been quoted £400 for the repairs which sounds reasonable. The chap is based next door to Dave the trimmer and certainly appears to know his stuff. Mentioned gel coat, osmosis, cold weather, baking etc. etc.

Anyone had any dealing with this company?

Cheers :)

Not had any dealings with the company but I think one of the TVRs dave had in when I was there last week was painted by that company. Looked like a great job. I'd also recommend Perfect Paint in Milton Keynes. They did a front clam respray when mine was getting badly stonechipped and did a fantastic job. Mine's coral like yours and they matched it perfectly. chinky chinky

I think that was Silverstone paint near Towcester, nice bloke but hard to get a quote out of. They repair race cars and Seb's VX.
Took mine to Steve Bellamy in Bedford, good prices there thumbsup He's done a few members cars now.

Thanks coral/biscuit brother :grouphug:

Was the TVR a deep red colour? A couple knocking about there today. Stunning cars.

I’ll give Perfect Paint a shout thumbsup

On a serious note, it isn't osmosis. And when the paint and gel coat have been stripped back, that is when it needs baking properly. Otherwise it is likely it will come back.

I only made that comment on the basis Dave the Trimmer told me 'the place next door painted a vx white, you may know him cos he's a moderator called Seb'

He could be wrong though

You car did look a little peppered when I saw it at Dave's earlier today. Yes, he painted Seb.F's car and another car on here.

Steve was half the price of Perfect Paint, I tried them first as they do our work cars. To be fair that quote was to remove and refit clam which I did myself in the end. Perfect paint will do a good job, as I said they do our cars - I work at Mercedes-Benz
