At the end I sold the old engine and so I take a B207 with internal trigger,

Are these trigger wheels somewhere mass produced, or are they made on request? (ie limited set/batch?)

http://www.vx220.org...-trigger-wheel/

Though it's gone a bit quiet over the last few weeks....

That's one about an external trigger wheel. (same setup as i will be doing).

My interest was triggered by the word "internal" ;)

I informed me yesterday regarding the internal trigger wheel.

It's like a copy of the original Z22Se trigger wheel which take the place and also the fix points from the B207 trigger wheel which is fixed with 3 screws.

Cost is around €350-€400.-

:o Can you get a price for it made from steel, instead of gold?

I'm going with the external one (hitec kit) for now, but that indeed sounds good. (and a much cleaner solution)

Do you think you're manufacturer would create more for that price, just in case people are interested?

Here's the triggerwheel for informational purpose.

It's not just this thing.

When i watch wheeler dealers i'm always amazed on those UK sheds with some guy in there coocking up the coolest stuff for relativily peanuts.

Over here R&D alone is 50 to 100 an hour, so everything get's expensive. (and you need to look for those guys with a magnifying glass)

Yeah, so am I. I'm just not sure those people exist in reality. Maybe they do when you're in the "trade" but to you and I, I'm less convinced. I think, much like the fat bastards budget and timescales, there may be a bit of poetic licence involved. Either that, or I really must go and find where these sheds specialists are.

Hopefully, aluminium foil is enough for the Hall sensor to "read"

Remember that you must disassemble the complete engine to fit this! And assemble again with new TTY bolts everywhere...

I have 2 new Saab head gaskets, 2 full sets of new head bolts, a set of new ARP head studs, 2 new crank pulley bolts, a pair of new camshaft pulley bolts, a handful of new flywheel bolts and God knows how many different types of seals here. New bolts are the least of my problems.

More seriously, that looks like quite a chunky bit of kit. How will that affect the balance of the crank?

@ Smiley; see you mail from Rob...

Techie; it's a tiny bit thicker than the stock pressed wheel to keep it steady in the lathe, but not much. Only looks so sturdy by the machined surface.

Dominique can give more details on it

Will be a good reference if you explain a bit more about your mapping issues.

If I remember correct you have some big cams that mess-up the idle with OBD in Speed Density mode (MAP referenced), so you had to switch to alpha-n for a decent idling, right?

Yes is correct.

But we solved this problem only to be sure that there isn't any other problem with engine which maybe could cause a big damage.

Like a damaged injector, a damaged lambda sensor or something like that.

The idle is not so important for me!

Plenty of power and torque there! One question though why is the the graph all over the place? Are you getting wheel spin or using bumpy roads? Also found Peter to be very helpful.

I had the same from my power runs, I think I got the power down a bit too quickly which added to the noise.

I think with so much power and torque it is difficult to get the power down cleanly. I would try again in a higher gear but this means high speeds. You are better feeding the power in slowly. It can make a big differance when you find some smoother roads. I know Peter could not get the power down on a std dyno and had to use a hub dyno to get repeatable results.
