On the lookout for a bit stronger valvesprings for my Ecotec head (Z22SE/Saab) and noticed Dilbert also makes a set: http://www.dbilas-sh...16V-Z22SE::7189 Anybody know their quality? Single spring 93Kp, but not much more info. Supertech 78lb is the common choice, but looking for some alternatives...

you MUST grind the roller rockers if you plan on using the supertech spring kit, they changed the design and the clearance between the roller rocker and valve spring retainer becomes a major issue thumbsdown

Yes, I know the clearance issue with the Supertech Ti retainers... Those DBilas are single spring, direct fit and standard retainers. Supposedly good for 8000rpm, but need more info on coil bind and installed seat pressure as the 93kp (= lb?) seems a tad high for my non-race engine... (Edit; is it anyway possible to shim the std springs for a higher seat pressure? Need to do some measurements.)

Sounds good, but I see you ride a Turbo so I assume that has a different spring kit fitted.

The Z22SE Ecotec does have a bit of a clearance issue...

Found a bit more info regarding the DBilas springs, but can someone confirm the REAL install height of the standard Ecotec valvesprings?
On the net and also in the GM buildbook this height is said to be 1.210" (30.7mm).
We did some measurements today on installed springs on a Saab head and found 35.2 to 35.4mm total height (varies). Top retainer is ~1.9mm and bottom seal-dish is 0.9mm. So worst case the install height is 35.2 - 1.9 - 0.9mm = 32.4mm.

This is the same as the spec I now got from DBilas:
- Closed seat pressure 35Kp (77lbs) @ 32.5mm.
- 86Kp (190lbs) @ 11mm lift.
- Coil bind/block length 20,5mm.

Sounds like a decent set of springs if you don't intend to run very high lift cams.
