I have some 175/55R17 - 81w Potenzas for sale at bargain prices. 2 have done less than 100 miles and are priced at £135 for the pair or £70 each. 2 have never seen the road and still have the paint on the treads, priced at £150 the pair, or £80 each. Collection from Norwich is preferred, but I can wrap and label if you want to arrange your own courier.

Hi Fazer, Interested in a pair......do you have the manufacture codes handy to give us an idea of the age of them? Also, any idea how much a UK courier would be for these? Thanks in advance.

The dot code on all the tyres is 43 - 06, making them just over 5 years old. A quick check on Wikipedia found this info: JATMA, the Japanese Automotive Tyre Manufacturers Association recommends that all tires be inspected at five years, and all tires that were manufactured more than ten years previous be replaced.

Hi Fazer, Thanks for coming back with the info promptly, Unfortunately they are older than my current tyres...I was planning to buy a couple and store them until I needed new (probably 2+ years with my low miles). I'll give it a miss then thanks, but sounds like a bargain for a couple of the high miler VX members on the forum. Sure they'll be snapped up quickly. All the best.

Same age as my current set so I'm afraid they are of no use to me either.

If they have been stored correctly (out of direct sunlight) they should be good as freshly made ones I imagine.

You're right. These have been stored correctly, and according to the japanese tyre manufacturers these are safe for another 5 years yet!

The two (used!) tyres, with less than 100miles have now gone - but I will have another pair of new, (paint still on tread) tyres coming in tomorrow morning. These will also have the 43-06 date code.

I have some 175/55R17 - 81w Potenzas for sale at bargain prices.

One has done less than 250 miles and is priced at £45.

The other one has probably done no more than a couple of miles as the paint on the treads is still visible. Price for this one is £60.

Collection from Norwich is preferred, but I can wrap and label if you want to arrange your own courier.

Yes these are more from the same source as previous tyres. Codes for these are 52-05 for the 'under 250m' and 43-06 for the 'like new' one. All tyres from my source have been stored in a professional cool and dark facility, from new.
