Do you need an air box before building? and by the looks of it only the clip area support frame is required for the bottom. So if the air box has a few holes in it'll still be useable? and will there be an idiots guide for fitting the the rest?

Duncan, would the air box alone mate up to my intake setup?

I'd say it does, all you need is the silicone tubing to be clamped onto the trumpet part of the air box and then to your afm. If it didn't then I doubt he'd give the option to sell it separately if you weren't able to use it ;) thumbsup

Sorry for the dealy with replies time is against me atm Nigel it would mate up but may need to tweak the angle of the pipe Tom ideally have one in advance to build but can do an exchange for you I will line it up to a stock intake - the kit was never really designed to be split up between box and intake but should not be too much trouble to tweak (famous last words lol) or it may fit just fine :D I will also dig the guide Dave did which goes through the work required to build yourself (about 3hrs with correct power tools from previous timings) DG

A couple of photo's showing the 80 mm bore outlet connected to a 70 mm MAF and OE rubber pipe.

The angles are not great as it was designed to mate up with the 80 mm pipe but is workable.

I could change the angle of the "trumpet" exiting the airbox if anyone desires but then there will be a problem at a later date if you want to upgrade to the full kit.

Dave.

I don't think we will know without trying it out.

If it doesn't line up we can always modify your existing alloy pipe so it does, I can do that while you wait if you are prepared to make the journey.

Ive already got an 80mm intake pipe after my AMM but in just the airbox kit do we get the silicone piping from the box to the AMM?
