i have had a similar reply a bout the supply....the only other consideration, is to have a new bumpstop custom made to allow an extra 25mm of travel in the suspension. This will prevent the car bottoming out on the extra bumpy b-roads...my specialist in putney will advise when the springs finally arrive. cheers

Havent experienced any such problems - and the front springs are progressive (Which may address such problems), so I think Eibach have thought through this carefully

Good info CP, thanx :)

My local backstreet garage has quoted me an hour a corner (£25 +vat) to fit the springs - sounds good to me  ...I know I should DIMS but I really can't be arsed :P

Latest from eibachshop.com...

Hello Simon

I have spoken with Eibach today and they have advised me that the supply
problems have been resolved.  They have advised me that delivery will be 14-21
days.  I will update you again when you can expect delivery of your springs.

If you know of anyone else requiring VX220 springs, we should be able to supply
on the same timescale provided their order is with us by 15th July.

Regards

John

Foxy, did you make sure that they were the springs for the VX and not the VXT ? Although there is only 60kgs difference, it can make the car springing characteristics completely different. My friend found this out when he removed 100kgs of weight from his eibach upgraded integrale for track days, the rear wheel was coming off the ground on certain bends!!! I don't think this would have quite a severe effect, however, it is worth querying. cheers

Cheers for the nod GB :) I'll ask 'em. However, the website only lists one type and doesn't seem to differentiate between T and NA

Foxy, Don't bother with the eibachs. My car is virtually sitting on the bumpstops. Now without dissapointing everyone else who has them. In the words of my very own specialist, the car would be better on billiard table smooth surfaces or a track day, however, on the Yorkshire dales and Wales the car will hit the bumpstop continuously. This would - if you are going at a good lick - virtually throw the back end into the air. As soon as I saw the rear wheel once he had lowered the car, I realised we were going to have problems. I took it out for a drive, and on the rough stuff in London, it was bottoming out continuously. If it can't deal with the rough stuff in London going 30 - 40 miles per hour, then it won't have a chance with some of the Yorkshire Dales (the car will probably fall apart after the amount of hits it would sustain). There is nothing wrong with the eibach springs themselves, they are a very nice bit of kit, however, when I had them fitted on my integrale, my specialist developed a shortened bumpstop to allow the ride height to be lowered by 30mm, in combination with the same amount of wheel travel (to the bumpstop) as standard. However, on the VX this is not possible, because the bumpstop is very short already and the length of the damper is restricted. So, horses for courses. If you like them, stick with them, but I wouldn't recommend them. cheers

Strange! Think mine works nicely, no problems, nutting extreme! Hard to distinguish between the bone-hard Bilsteins and a bump stop i gather? And what about Thorney and Jaggeler and others that have lowered the cars even further, are these guys sitting on their bump stops!!???  Sorry, dont think so, but I may be wrong, but in the mean time I think YOU are!

So your Eibachs arrived already gb? Cheers for the info but I wonder if this could be a turbo/na thing?? Perhaps the extra weight of the lardy vxt means there is more static sag therefore reducing available travel??? Anybody else fitted the kit to an na???
